Going to see Flogging Molly for the first time tonight. I've only heard good things from those who have seen them before.

Had a "dirty weekend" away with the missus a fortnight ago and saw Glen Hansard and Eddie Vedder on the Friday and then Bruce on the Saturday. 2 totally different shows but both awesome in their own way.
I had 4 2nd row tix to see Billy Bragg in March but can't make it to Perth that weekend, so they went to my Brother as a birthday present for the other day.
I'm a good brother.

Saw Rufus wainwright tonight for the umpteenth time.
He was incredible.
He's grown up. He fucked up repeatedly. He dealt with it all with an ease and a grace I thought beyond him. Usually he's mr perfectionist. There's a maturity and a sense of place now that was never there.
Very very blown away and happy for him.
Go see him.

May go to The Fillmore on Saturday for Galactic and Robert Randolph... Although there may be too many stinky hippies there for my liking.
BTW: Stubbs is a great venue down in Austin! Great BBQ, too.

To my inevitable regret, I'm giving this a miss tonight.Birds in Hell wrote:Going to this in March, guys.

"Zorn @ 60"
A 60th birthday extravaganza that everyone is invited to, featuring vocal performances from lyricists Mike Patton, Jesse Harris and Sofia Rei, the beautiful exotica of The Dreamers, a powerful and spiritual tribute to the Knights Templar by Moonchild, and the wild abandon of Electric Masada. This is a birthday party like no other, an ultimate celebration of John Zorn.
Featuring Jorn Zorn, Cyro Baptista, Joey Baron, Trevor Dunn, Jesse Harris, Mike Patton, John Medeski, Ikue Mori, Sofia Rei, Marc Ribot, Jamie Saft and Kenny Wollesen
I got delayed and wouldn't have been able to make it til the show was a third over and I'm just not in the mood.
Stars of the Lid were fantastic last week so at least there's that.
