I think it's just a half step away from dark n moody n atmospheric.
It's a bit too busy for that.

Re: Song of the Moment: Pendulum
this is exactly the kind of soundscape piece I'm interested in. I loved it from the moment we heard the teaser in the tour announcement video. I probably like this song more than Sleight of Hand and Of the Girl put together.

Ed's "I can't be bothered to deal with this" lyrical farting about, and his occasional urge to fixer everything ("If I think you'll get bored, let me put a little "ahh-ahh-ahhing on it"), are what make me hate it.BurtReynolds wrote:His liking of this song kinda makes me hate it.warehouse wrote:im surprised he doesnt hate this songHeathen wrote:least stip post of all time?stip wrote:I really want an instrumental of this song someday

Re: Song of the Moment: Pendulum
to the surprise of no one I like the ah-ah-ah part. It was unexpected. We don't have anything else like it. I like how it kind of mocks the rest of the song, which then has to compete for space for the rest of the song.McParadigm wrote:Ed's "I can't be bothered to deal with this" lyrical farting about, and his occasional urge to fixer everything ("If I think you'll get bored, let me put a little "ahh-ahh-ahhing on it"), are what make me hate it.BurtReynolds wrote:His liking of this song kinda makes me hate it.warehouse wrote:im surprised he doesnt hate this songHeathen wrote:least stip post of all time?stip wrote:I really want an instrumental of this song someday
I've got no problem with the lyrics to this either. They aren't a masterpiece, but Eddie clearly wasn't being lazy with the lyrics on Lightning Bolt. If you're gonna accuse that album of anything it should be that it's overwritten. But they set a pensive, life at a shadowy crossroads mood and then largely get out of the way. As they should.
