I couldn't go to sleep for like 24 hours after that Primal Scream show. It was everything I could ever want from a concert. It was crazy thinking that they had (well, at the time former) members of MBV, The Stones Roses, and the Jesus & Mary Chain all on stage together.

I have a picture of a wide-eyed, innocent Lament with Kevin Shields from that night floating around somewhere. And another of me with Bobby Gillespie looking like he'd just swallowed Timothy Leary. It's pretty funny.

Sweet!

I ran into Kevin and Mani after the show too. Mani held me in a sweaty hug and ranted in my ear for an uncomfortably long time.

Hahaha, that's awesome!

Kevin was one of the sweetest musicians I've ever met. I remember everyone being kinda nervous around him at first cause he hadn't been out of "hiding" for very long, but he was so nice and willing to sit around and talk about anything. Which of course amounted to everyone talking to him about MBV for like a half hour...

I saw Radiohead once during the Kid A/Amnesiac era... I remember a lot of lights, great music, and Thom dedicating the last song to 'those who are currently in an alternate reality.' I promptly thanked him for my dedication, and lost the way back to my car... all thanks to the Lone Star Donuts I had eaten earlier in the day...

Oh, I'll add Sonic Youth playing Daydream Nation in 2008.

That was incredible.

I saw Radiohead on the OK Computer tour with Spiritualized (who were touring for Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space). That was pretty amazing. Though Spiritualized might have been the better act that night (and that's not a knock against Radiohead at all).

This won't mean anything to anyone here, but one of the most amazing shows I've ever been to was this little-known Argentine band named Ofuia playing at this tiny art gallery named Camalote here in Buenos Aires, maybe 5 years ago. There was a power outage in the middle of the show, but they kept on playing with no amplification-- two violins, a cello, a double bass, trumpet, acoustic guitar, an accordion, a glockenspiel and drums. It was awesome.

Has anyone here ever tried to get bootlegs of all the shows they attended? I'm missing quite a few, most notably the Brian Wilson show I mentioned. Brian Wilson is on the "no trade" list or whatever it's called.

Yes. I have like 1/3 of all the shows I attended, but some of the ones I want the most I don't have. I'd pay a substantial sum for a recording of the Radiohead set I saw in 1997.

1. Fugazi - PHX - 1991 ($5 show at a warehouse in an industrial complex near downtown. Police helicopter shows up at one point and Guy and Ian both scream at them to "Fuck off!" Later, Ian falls through the stage, but keeps playing.)
2. The Cure - Dallas - 2000 (In a bar with about 500 people. I was like 30 feet from Robert the whole night. Part of a small "warm-up" club tour during the release of Bloodflowers.)
3. Mogwai - PHX - 2001 (Talked to Stuart at the bar before the show.)

Hell yeah. I'd love a copy of the 1998 RH show I saw (same tour, I guess?). I'd also love a copy of the Soundgarden show I saw in 1997.

I feel very fortunate to have found boots of Them Crooked Vultures and Queens of the Stone Age shows I've attended, but apparently there aren't many tapers in Brisbane.

Do you remember which bar in Dallas? I saw them in Dallas on the Bloodflowers tour, but in a big amphitheater... I don't remember a warm up gig, and it sure wasn't announced. Bob Smith was always a bit partial to Deep Ellum... was it Trees? Trees is the first place PJ played in Dallas... maybe 50 people were there, but it could hold around 500.

Radiohead - The Gorge - 6.23.2001 - First time seeing them. Hands down the best
Sleater-Kinney - Crystal Ballroom - 8.11&12.2006 - Last shows ever, also met Ed on the final night
Tool - Long Beach Arena - 11.24.2002 - First time seeing them. Final show of Lateralus tour. Just insane

I have recordings of every Radiohead & Tool show I've seen, but only 1 shitty recording of a S-K show out of the 8 times I saw them.
