Cropduster is not a song I would think you like. I'm surprised.
It normally wouldn't be. It's appeal is certainly enhanced by the fact that it is a standout track on what is easily their weakest album, imo
Cropduster isn't on Backspacer.

Yeah, I hated to vote against Cropduster. Its probably the song that has elevated the most in their catalog for me over the past 10 years.

This should be much closer. Cropduster is one of the more creative and interesting songs they've ever written. Sad is pretty good, I understand why people like it so much, but it's certainly overrated when sitting next to the greatness that is Cropduster.

Both are lovely songs. Both scratch a particular itch, for sure. But Cropduster... man oh man goddamn. I won't be mad if it loses to Sad, but I really think Cropduster is better and deserves the advance.

This is one of those matches in which I voted against both of the songs in previous rounds (if it were up to me, this would be In Hiding Vs. You). I only shit-talked Sad a little in the past threads, so I have no problem voting for it here. I think I can still see why it was left off of Binaural (maybe parts of it sound too much like Grievance?), but I'm glad it eventually got released. Probably my favorite part about it is that Ed doesn't (except for maybe the very end of the song) stretch out the "It's sad" part too far; it lands pretty bluntly, just like how emotions like that hit you in the gut. I'm afraid that if they released this song now, it'd be like: "It's saaaaAAAAaaaaD."

Oh, and also, I'd love to see a Lost Dogs song make it to the next round, and I'm afraid All Night is about to get shellacked (Sad is also just a better song than All Night, too).

Uh, you do know that that's "U"... and not "You Are", right? :shake:

Although I definitely agree with the In Hiding part of this statement. In Hiding vs. Cropduster would be a much harder decision for me.

I do, I do. I think that since the first time I owned a copy of this song was Lost Dogs, and that lists it as "You" on the back cover, I fall into calling it that.

Cropduster. I've worn out both tunes, but Cropduster is the easiest to come back to.

I like Sad well enough, but voting for Cropduster was an easy decision. That's a Top Tenner.

Cranked this song up on my drive to Denver today. It is absolutely speaking to my core being right now and it sucks. But it's a powerful song and now I'm confident with my vote.

Although if I cranked cropduster right now... " turns out the world thought me..."
