It's probably the local fox sports affiliate. I'll look into it.4/5 wrote:If you find out what network is showing it, lemme know.

Both teams have been looking pretty tired or something. I like the Pacers tonight because they have to be about over their slump. The Heat haven't been in theirs as long so they may still be in the middle of it.Monkey_Driven wrote:Did you guys hear the Pacers and Heat are playing tonight?

Wow I have to admit I thought the Nets were gonna just get worse and worse with Kidd as the lone head coach. I guess Frank was holding the team back a little afterall. They still aren't a contender but Kidd doesn't seem like the worst coach in the league anymore. Could he actually end up being a good coach?

Actual ESPN headline: Heat/Pacers: a heavyweight showdown for the ages.

If you break it down to minutes played Oden is actually pretty expensive. The Hilbert deal was horrible from the start, nobody is arguing that....Peeps wrote:Greg? oden = $880K

Listen, verb...it's not everyday we get a matchup between a team that's 5-7 in their last 12 versus a team that's 5-5 in their last 10! In the month of March no less, when NBA games become the stuff of myth and legend.

Obviously at this point it's impossible to know if that $880k has value or not, but maybe the only interesting thing about tonight will be to see if he helps Hibbert look like Hibbert looks against every team in the league besides Miami.verb_to_trust wrote:If you break it down to minutes played Oden is actually pretty expensive. Re: NBA Thread
In March, Hibbert is averaging 8.9 points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 44.0 percent from the field in 29.0 minutes per game. In the loss to the Grizzlies last week, he had zero rebounds in 21 minutes. In 26 minutes last night he had three points and five rebounds while missing all five of his shots. This is a guy who's 7'2 and does the majority of his work close to the basket. Those are simply unacceptable numbers from a player of his supposed caliber.

It's incredible how mediocre he is against the rest of the league but can't miss no matter what he throws up against the Heat.verb_to_trust wrote:Damn, Roy H is shitting all over Oden in the first quarter...

Re: NBA Thread
Really? I didn't see the 1st half but they benched Oden for the 2nd. So how many buckets did he score on Oden, damn...7,8? I'm actually surprised. Not because I think Oden is ready, he's so far from being where he needs to be....but because Hibbert is a horrible offensive basketball player. Oden looked like glass in the 5 or 6 games I have watched him in this year. One out of two times he jumps, he lands funny and almost falls down. He looked slow defensively and it's been hard to watch a rehab live out on the court. The playoffs aren't far away, he might not make it.verb_to_trust wrote:Damn, Roy H is shitting all over Oden in the first quarter...

Re: NBA Thread
I think the Oden experiment ended tonight. He had zero impact and once Spo went to Haslem big Roy had zero offensive impact on the game.
Too bad the Pacers won though. They are such a bunch of thugs. The way they were clubbing Lebron was pathetic. Reminded me of the 1 v 8 matchup against the Bulls a few years back when his strategy was to basically commit felonies on Derrick Rose the whole series.

Re: NBA Thread
Only got to watch the first half of the game last night. Will watch the second half later. What a weird game. Very physical.
I don't think Hibbert is the best center in the league by any stretch of the imagination (Noah, M. Gasol, or Howard) but you all are underestimating his defensive impact. I'd probably put him in the category of a healthy Bogut or Robin Lopez in terms of his overall impact on the team. The argument about if he is overpaid depends on how much you value an elite rim protector in your defensive system. He has been slumping as of late, but few players don't during the course of an 82 game season.
Despite how these teams are playing this month I still want to see them in the conference finals. It will be slugfest with lots of games in the 80's.
