I saw Silverchair at least twice in the 90's. One show was supported by Spiderbait and Grinspoon. That's so Oz 90's it hurts.

On a similar note, shortly after that Silverchair show I saw Tumbleweed supported by Magic Dirt and the Fauves - it was actually pretty great, from memory.

I saw the Foo Fighters on that same early 1998 tour as you did, they were fantastic.

I saw Magic Dirt support Dinosaur Jr. They were EXCELLENT.

It sure was. I remember being distinctly chuffed at getting to watch the Nirvana drummer playing drums live and thinking I would never get to see that again.

I only had to wait 12 years to see it in Them Crooked Vultures.

That Vultures tour was terrific. The BNE show might make my top three.

[Simple Torture]

I saw Magnolia Electric Co. in 2004--it was their first tour as Magnolia Electric Co, I think, and it was the last night of the tour. It was at Cafe Paradiso in Champaign, IL, and there were probably 150-200 people there. Jason seemed bored out of his wits. They played about 7-8 songs, about 35 minutes despite being the headliners, and it was all (at the time) new songs except for a slowed down version of "I've Been Riding With the Ghost." I thought it was awful.

Reading Jason Groth's blog has been an eye-opener about just how on/off Jason could be. I feel lucky that the show I went to was a show that Jason took seriously.

Dave was all riled up like he was killin' em and everyone was totally bored and in agony. The guy next to me was pissed off because he thought Blues Traveler were supposed to be opening.
