The Toadies

Post by daft twat »

They're out playing Rubberneck in its entirety for the 20th anniversary. Still one of my favorite albums. Looking forward to the show at First Ave. Anyone else sparking up the nostalgia?

Going to see them tomorrow night in Denver... One of my favorite Dallas bands... looking forward to seeing them in a new city, in what looks to be a cool venue... The Gothic Theater.

Toadies were great... as always! Venue was packed... The bros in the audience kinda made it a less than enjoyable experience. Some of the shit associated with club shows just don't do it for me like it used to. I'm just becoming a curmudgeon, I guess.

saw them at first ave on friday. it was nuts to butts in there, which is pretty surprising since the band had one radio hit 20 years ago. rubberneck was great, especially "i burn." they really should have flipped the way they did the show and ended with rubberneck. the other stuff felt anticlimactic. i like hell below, stars above as much as rubberneck, so the 4 tracks they played from that were a treat, but the rest of their material is more miss than hit for me. i do wish they'd work in a few of the better burden brothers songs, too.

They did BBros songs? I know Vaden does them solo, but I didn't know Toadies covered them. Conversely, BBros seemed to cover a lot of Toadies songs every time I saw them. I'm also surprised so many people outside of D/FW are showing up to these shows. Good for them!

They do not. I wish they would. Shadow would fit in brilliantly, for example.
