Re: Dream Band Super-Group Tournament - Round 2 - *Kaius*
I'm pretty happy with where my team is heading for now. A certain first round exit, but whatevs - they will use their down time well creating magic in the studio.
Kaius' team seems well balanced at the mo - George and Freddy seem to complement each other.
IHTP - Gilmour's great, not a Tool fan myself but I do know that they are big, epic drums there. Certainly both fit the groovy/spacey/sometimes epic thing. Could be big.
Argo - Waits! Awesome bold choice. BB bores me to tears but then again what would I know? I like SRV, so take that as you will. I think the pairing is interesting though.
Sarge - Buckley's voice is beautiful, and he can play guitar. Bonham is a monster and was my first choice for drummer - I love his groove and his power.
Lament - PJ is a great performer, I love her angry stuff. Lindsay Buckingham is talented for sure and can certainly play to great leading ladies.
LMS - Jimi and Nina - stellar team base here - really interested to see where this goes. I really love this start.
stip - Prince is super-duper-funkilicious, but who the hell could he share a stage with? And how will the band work out royalties? Not much of a Corgan fan to be honest. I think you have some work to do.
Self - Moonie and JPJ - the true "supergroup" of the tourney is building here. RAWK!
DCT - Neil Young and Jack White - this is an awesome start indeed. I wanted Jack White myself and Neil is just perfect in any situation with anyone. These guys would be just non-stop jamming. Probably the team that I'm most excited about.
This is fun!

I love rock musicians that are able to incorporate other cultural influences into their sound. Either stylistically or just due to their own personal experience.
Again, I also wanted someone who could blow you away with their ability, but could also complement the music by playing into the song and not always playing over it just because they can.

He was on my list. I actually played a heap of Police stuff today doing "research". I really like his drumming style.

Who is your drummer pick for the band I'm assembling? Because I honestly have no idea.bada wrote:He was my drummer pick for the band you were assembling.Kaius wrote:I love rock musicians that are able to incorporate other cultural influences into their sound. I agree! I'm really glad we're doing this. It's great to see where some of your imaginations are going with it.Varis wrote:This is fun!

Lament,
Would it be too much trouble to update the OP with every band's current roster as we go?
Lots of love,
Kaius
