Although, as always, I wonder whether people would prefer pearl jam not making non-essential stuff that no one would ever feel pressured to buy because a portion of their fanbase clearly enjoys purchasing because another portion of the fanbase thinks this is inappropriate for some reason.

I think a lot of people would be okay with it if they actually made enough to satisfy that entire portion of the fan base. Instead they produce these limited runs, which artificially inflate the prices because of such a limited supply.

I don't even care if they limit the supply, but if they're going to send out an e-mail, there should be enough shit to still be available 24 hours later. If it's less than that, they should give them away in contests or randomly slip them into shipments to record stores.
