Ok, this is my final pick:

He's the glue that binds my band together.

He's brings pure sass, the raw energy, and the band is nothing without him.

He's known as El Rey de los Timbales.

He's Tito motherfucking Puente!

Excellent.

I'm trying to process what the scene would be like the first time your band sat down to rehearse.

Whose band do you think Joe Walsh would've most fit in with?

^ All of them, but if I had to pick, maybe Sgt. Crackpot. I can see him on stip's team too.

I was thinking maybe Joey's. But then again, Joey is still active, so he could conceivably pick him.

Sometimes a guy has to rely on tried and trued classic rock titans like PJ Harvey, Joy Division, New Order, Radiohead, and Nirvana.
This lost me at SRV going first.

Cool picks there, Sly. Far out.

To be fair, Varis followed up his pick of SRV with later picks of Nick Cave and Josh Homme.

Meaningless in my book. I'll butt out now.

Nah, it's cool. All opinions are welcome here. At the end of the day this is all just another way to spur discussion about music.

Based on the tastes and preferences of RMers, I think three of these bands have a much better chance to win than all of the others. And I think one of those three sticks out as the clear favorite.

I really have no idea how I'm going to vote. The conceptual descriptions will matter a lot for me.
