I'm glad no one picked Beethoven and then surrounded him with heavy metal musicians.

Sometimes a guy has to rely on tried and trued classic rock titans like PJ Harvey, Joy Division, New Order, Radiohead, and Nirvana.
This lost me at SRV going first.

Cool picks there, Sly. Far out.
I was like the Portland Trailblazers taking Sam Bowie at #1 over Jordan.

Sorry for fucking it up snc - I'll do better next time, promise.

Thanks for taking a chance on it! I was worried either no one would want to take part, or that it would end up going really poorly and fizzling out right away, but it's been more fun than I would have expected. I'm really thrilled that all of you threw your hats in the ring, and I think everyone approached with a pretty awesome attitude (sorry to sound cheesy).

If someone randomly showed me each band line up and then a list of who the participants were, yours would be the one I would be least likely to match with the right poster, stip.

I would imagine mine would be the one most people would get right.

If that had been your band it would've been right next to mine for "Most obviously picked by ______."

I can only imagine how it would of gone down around here, but EV as a frontman is a legitimately good pick - 94/95 Ed was all that, voice and attitude and climbing shit and everything. Fwiw I'm glad you picked Dave A.

I'm surprised Robert Plant didn't get picked. And my original plan was to pick Bon Scott as my frontman which would have bought ACDC into the fold (Malcolm Young was also on my board). I nearly went with Joe Strummer, but in the end Nick Cave had too much to offer. Jack Black was also a possibility.

I'll try and get my write-up done over the next day or two. I have it mostly planned out, just have to put it together. 25 SRV youtube vids one-after-'tother for your visual and auditory pleasure. Do you want us to do it as a pm and send it that way?

You'll do absolutely fine, I'm sure. I never get through round 1 in any tourney - it's like my curse or something.

I think Jimmy Page is the person I'm most surprised didn't get picked.

It's up to you. You can post it here if you'd like, and I'll copy it into the OP for ease of future reference from there. If you'd rather PM it to me like stip, that works too. For what it's worth, I think if you post it here first, it's more likely to be seen, since if it only goes in the OP it might get buried with all of the other write ups going in there at the same time. It's your call.

Sounds good. For what it's worth, I was really hoping we'd end up against each other in round one like you mentioned earlier. I have a sinking feeling we're both headed for first round exits the way it panned out.
