after downloading issues up to #80 or so a couple years ago, i've started reading the comics. i'm through 12 issues, and they've just arrived at the prison. i had no idea the comic moved the story along so quick.

The people running Terminus are cannibals.

A plate of what? All the cattle roaming around?

The final line of the season was the most douche chill-inducing moment of the year, and there were a many. What a crappy season.

The Walking Dead: 99% Chance this new bad guy Will Arrive

Spoiler: show
The Walking Dead: 99% Chance Negan Will Arrive
By Sergio Prietoon April 11th, 2014 at 1:55pm

Okay, so it sounds like the world of AMC's The Walking Dead will have 99 problems, and Negan will most certainly be one.

At least, that is according to 'TWD' creator, Robert Kirkman. In an interview with MTV News, he said this about the infamous villain from the comics:

But I wouldn't expect Negan too terribly soon, although he is definitely in the plan. It's a 99% lock that he's going to be in the show eventually, so be on the lookout for that.

Be on the lookout for Negan's debut in the show I will definitely do! I have yet to read the comics, to my dismay. However, I have friends who have read them up to the current issue, and they all are very informed on just who this Negan guy is. All of them are in agreement: Negan is precisely a thousand times worse than Philip (a.k.a. the Governor). If that is indeed the case, then I can understand why the character making the transition from the comics to the television series is a "99% lock" so far, rather than a 100% lock.

Based on what my fellow 'TWD'-viewing friends have shared with me, Negan does excruciatingly painful things to people. He happens to have a pal in the form of a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire; the bat even has a name - Lucille. Upon my request, my friends have not revealed too much. The few things they have shared with me, though, have made me cringe a bit. But, it got me wondering, how much of that violence can/will be shown in the show?

Obviously, showrunner Scott Gimple and the rest of the show's makers have proven to us that they are practically fearless when it comes to making the zombie apocalyptic world as believable and barbaric as possible. The two best, most concise examples I can give are: (1) the killings that occurred during "The Grove" - Lizzie stabbing and killing her sister, Mika; Carol shooting Lizzie in the head, and (2) the scene from the season four finale ("A") in which Dan (now-deceased former member of Joe's group) was harassing Carl, and was about to do much worse. The fact that the show's makers are not afraid of portraying kids committing violent acts, and/or portraying them as the victim of a violent act, demonstrates that the limits to what can be displayed in the show are seemingly indefinite.

As a result, the idea of bringing Negan to the show was one I am sure Kirkman, Gimple and the rest of the crew discussed at length for a long time. On one hand, fans of the show who have also read the comics most probably will be excited to see the murderous, sadistic, villainous Negan in the show. On the other hand, will Negan from the show be as sadistic and as violent as Negan from the comics? Will the show's makers have to tone him down a bit to meet AMC's standards (if the network even has any major ones)?

Of course, this all falls under the assumption that the character will make his TV debut at some point. As Kirkman stated, it is a "99% lock." So, it is perhaps safe to make the aforementioned assumption.

Lastly, If/when Rick and his group escape Gareth and the rest of Terminus, they will most likely be out on the road again searching for a safer place to live in. I am inclined to predict that will happen during the latter portion of the second half of season five. By then, the show would be in need of a new major antagonist. Would this be the right time to introduce Negan? Or, should he be introduced at the start of a brand new season? Personally, I would not mind him appearing earlier, just so he can provide us viewers with more to look forward to, if there is a season six (which will almost undoubtedly happen).

Funny, I don't remember seeing anything about this until now. Evidently it's old news to some.

'The Walking Dead' spinoff series greenlit by AMC for 2015 Release.

Creator Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert are attached as producers on the zombie companion series that will focus on a different cast.

"Walking Dead" comics creator Robert Kirkman and executive producers Dave Alpert and Gale Anne Hurd are behind the new series, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The spinoff is set to tell a new tale and feature new characters and cast based on Kirkman's comics. With the new series, AMC has tied up with the hit comic series for the third time. Apart from "The Walking Dead," a show called "The Talking Dead" hosted by Chris Hardwick is there on AMC.

"Building on the success of the most popular show on television for adults 18-49 is literally a no-brainer," Charlie Collier, AMC president and GM said.

"We look forward to working with Robert, Gale and Dave again as we develop an entirely new story and cast of characters. It's a big world and we can't wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse," he added.

"After 10 years of writing the comic book series and I couldn't be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of "The Walking Dead" universe," Kirkman said on the latest developments.

"The opportunity to make a show that isn't tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing," he added.

"The Walking Dead" has been a smash-hit show for AMC in terms of total viewers. The third season finale of the series broke its own records which is commendable.

Kirkman added that it is not technically a spin off, because none of The Walking Dead characters will actually be involved. Technically it will be more like a seperate series following a different group of characters in a different part of the world dealing with the zombie apocalypse.

Man, AMC is really grasping at straws here. They should be creating an end game for the orginal series before turning this into Walking Dead LA. No more breaking bad, no more mad men, Walking dead already on season 5. AMC is on the downfall.

And yes, I won't spoil Negan, but he the motherfucker of motherfuckers, whenever they bring him in, they NEED to get the casting perfect on him.

Jesus Christ. They don't even have enough plot for one show - how the hell are they going to manage two.

Spoiler: show
I think he may have Beth. Remember how Morgan's wife kept coming home in Season 1. The pack of zombies that tried to get into the funeral home might be the dead that Gabriel caused when he locked them out. That's the event he regrets most and would explain why they were on the front porch - they're still trying to get to safety. It may also explain why he was preparing the dead - he felt guilty for what he did and is trying to give them a proper burial. His character is sopposedly different from the comic.

'The Walking Dead' Confirms A Fan-Favorite Villain Is Coming To The Show
By Kirsten Acuna | Business Insider

Gene Page/AMC

Warning: If you do not read "The Walking Dead" comic series, there are spoilers ahead.

Spoiler: show
A huge villain from "The Walking Dead" will be joining the series soon.

Sunday night, AMC aired a one-hour special of "The Talking Dead," the usual aftershow companion to "The Walking Dead," giving a preview at the show's upcoming season 5 this fall.

Near the end of the special, host Chris Hardwick asked executive producer Scott Gimple about his favorite rumor he has heard for the series and he briefly slipped up about a very popular character making an entrance soon.

"The recent one [rumor] that Jon Hamm was going to play Negan, who is a character coming up, a villain," said Gimple.

With fangirl Aisha Tyler sitting right next to him, Gimple quickly added "coming up eventually."

Earlier this year, it was reported "The Walking Dead" series creator Robert Kirkman said "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm would be perfect for the role of fan-favorite villain Negan in the future of the series.

Comic fans know Negan is a character who comes in radically changes the dynamic of the group.

Negan as he appears in "The Walking Dead" comic series.

However, there's just one slight problem that could prevent Negan's appearance on the show from feeling authentic.

Hardwick pointed out that "every other word out of his mouth is the 'f' word."

Negan's unabashedly vulgar vernacular defines his character so it will be an interesting one to see translated onto the small screen.

Gimple joked that viewers should reach out to their cable providers and make AMC a paid network.

Kirkman has previously said he has discussed casting Negan on the series with Gimple; however, we shouldn't expect to see him in the near future.

"I wouldn’t expect Negan too terribly soon, although he is definitely in the plan," Kirkman told MTV News. "It’s a 99% lock that he’s going to be in the show eventually, so be on the lookout for that."

Right now, Gimple says that all 16 episodes for season 5 are relatively figured out.

The first trailer for "The Walking Dead" season 5 will premiere Friday, July 25 at San Diego Comic Con.

I would say where the governor had is downfalls, Negan is a character that is purely in control and has the resources to do and get done what he wants. So yeah, the governor part 2, but better.
