My wife and I tried watching Ted the other day. We sat down expecting to laugh our asses off. We lasted 30 min. Really wanted to like it. Was in a great mood for it. It wasn't funny.

It really suffered from MacFarlane's M.O. I think he creates a sense of amusement very well, but there were only about 3 things in Ted that I laughed at

its an episode of Family Guy thrown into a romantic comedy. your mileage may vary.

I enjoyed Ted. I liked it a lot more than those Family Guy Star Wars epsiodes. It was good for a one-time watch kinda thing.

I saw that Bernie film. The only time in my life I haven't thought Matthew McConaughey is terrible. So that's a new experience.

Just saw David Shwimmer's 'Trust'.I think I'm going to kill myself. One of the most depressing films I've ever seen. Supurb, though.

I have Savages and The Assassination of Jesse James on deck.

Has anyone seen the latter? I've heard some really mixed reviews about it, but I think I'll like it (based on my liking of Tree Of Life and There Will Be Blood).

Assassination of Jesse James is a great film. Casey Affleck is amazing in it.

Jesse James is overlong, but you can't deny the great character progressions. It's meditative and moody like TOL & TWBB, so yeah you'll probably like it. And yes Casey Affleck is amazing. Probably a turning point in Pitt's acting & producing career. One of many great movies that came out that year.

I hope I get to watch "Jesse" this weekend. The weather is gonna be nice though, so I'm gonna be outside grilling and drinking beer tomorrow. Sunday, the Mrs. has told me we have some chores to do, so hopefully Sunday night I can see it.

You have no heart. Or you do and it's black. Or something.

Ted was shit, I can't believe it was received well

Today I watched Jackie Brown and Black Swan. Jackie Brown was good but it lacked any real intrigue into the plot (the only part that sucked you in was wondering who she was actually aligning with, which in the end didn't really hold much bearing anyway).

Black Swan was awesome, had sort of heard a few of the plot twists before I watched the movie but it was still so surprising. Natalie Portman played that role so well.

I still watch skate vids/movies. Blueprint's Lost and Found is probably the best ever made.

I re-watched Stephen Belber's Management a couple of days ago. What an awkward and absurd movie. But I like it. Not quite as much the second time around, but still.
