I wish I could make that decision.
I USUALLY like the completed tracks more than demos though.
I don't know. We'll have to ask B where he got this. If this is just a rumor on a slow news day we'll merge the threads. But if this is legit I don't want to pull a whole thread out of the current rumors thread.
The Gift... that's familiar for some reason. Has that popped up in previous sessions? Or did someone mention it in an interview? Why is that ringing a bell?

For me it usually depends when I hear the demos. If I hear them like 6 months ahead of time and get used to them it's a shock when I hear the finished tracks. If I hear them at the same time as the finished tracks its not as big a deal and like you I'll choose the finished track. I guess the best example is when I heard the first Audioslave album a year and a half before it came out. When I heard the finished tracks it was like what's this crap. I imagine the new PJ is a while away so listening to these demos(if they are real) and getting used to them might be setting you up for a let down. You love Puzzles and Games or at least it's potential. If you listened to that for 8 months waiting for a real awesome clean copy and they rewrote the song you'd be pissed!
That said I'm full of shit if I had these demos I'd listen to them!
Yeah, I've never been one to listen early. I mean, I'll listen to a lead single or whatever. But I usually save any demos until after. And I rarely listen to leaks.

i listened to the 6 track leak of S/T and i really feel like it killed my usual enjoyment of getting the full finished product and listening to it all straight through, so i dont listen to any demos or leaks or anything until after ive heard the album. if anything pops up i will do my best to just download it and forget about it for a while

at least for me, the S/T demos didn't take anything away. The final versions were pretty similar, and so it was like the final songs were familiar friends with new surprises that made them feel new again.
I agree I might feel different with a radically different final product, but if these are full band songs I wonder how different they'd be.
On the other hand light years/puzzles and games...
So Ed just grows his beard for live performances and pretends he has it all the time.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.
Transience sounds like it could be a great "last track" kind of song.
As for any leaking of these demos... it would be a tough call whether to listen or not. It can ruin the anticipation and overall presentation of a full album.
theplatypus wrote:I don't think the Avocado demos ever leaked, other than "Gone". Those were just rough (and probably unmastered) mixes of the album tracks.
True. S/T demos never leaked. Only unmastered tracks from album mixes.
