I picked up the You're No RnR Fun CD single in San Francisco many moons ago but I'm pretty sure that those non album tracks are included in most SK torrents you'll find.

I came across this as part of a SK discography torrent - great job!
I like how you organised it, with soundboards separately etc. :nice:

The BBC session youtube clip above has been taken down unfortunately :(

I recently discovered that a couple of songs from the BBC session (Words & Guitar and One More Hour) were on the Get Up single, which I picked up on the 'bay for a few bucks - they sound great.

Does anyone have any other SK B-sides, rarities or officially released live tracks they'd care to share with a new fan? :)

I've got some low quality mp3s of those two tracks. What If I Was Right is a great song :nice:

Call it a hunch but I have a feeling they're going to play a show this year, and my guess is that they are the headliners of MusicFestNW here in Portland. It's just a feeling, but it makes a lot of sense - if they were going to come back it would be here in Portland, and it would be something like MusicFest.

I hope I'm right! What if I was right?

Just in case you are right I think you should spend the next 4 months petitioning to have MusicFestNW streamed online so the rest of us can experience it vicariously.

I'm glad I got tickets for this a month ago!

Tomorrow night kicks off Peter Buck's two-night stand at the Secret Society Ballroom (as detailed here). Buck will be joined by musicians Scott McCaughey, Bill Rieflin, and Kurt Bloch and performing songs from his two vinyl-only solo albums (2012's Peter Buck and this year's I Am Back to Blow Your Mind Once Again). Opening both shows is the debut of the mysterious super-Earth.
Who is super-Earth, you ask? It has been revealed that it is a loosely formed supergroup of the aforementioned musicians (Buck, McCaughey, Rieflin, Bloch) with the addition of Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney, Corin Tucker Band), who has collaborated with Buck in the past. According to McCaughey, they're "performing an entire set of soon-to-be-album-sized new compositions by said Buck/Tucker combine." Which can only mean a super-Earth record is on the way from Tucker and Buck (although it's also suggested that super-Earth's name is subject to change).

Of this week's shows, McCaughey goes on to add, "Being Tuesday / Wednesday nights, the music will start at 8 pm, and there will be deathly silence by 10:30 pm or so; therefore none need be deprived of that Top-Three-Element-Of-Life-Contender: sleep."

As a special bonus, these shows—according to the flyer—are brought to you by legendary Procol Harum guitarist Robin Trower.

My hunch was completely wrong, unless they do a surprise show. Meh.

Carrie said recently shes not doing anything musically till after Portlandia Season 5 films this summer (that of course could always change, especially now with Fred doing the Late Night gig, but they were supposed to allow him time to leave and do Portlandia)

Quasi - I Dont Know You Anymore, is one of the coolest arranged songs

For those who dont know / never grabbed it, in that torrent is a 8 disc live compilation that has just about every SK song we could find on recording. (We = me, and 3 or 4 others from the old SK boards, it was well over 50 bootlegs used/listened too) It also has all the SK/PJ teamups as of 2006 mixed in at the end of "The Woods" cds

Its flipping awesome that some site in Russia is still hosting that. :peace: enjoy

Here is a great page for Sleater-Kinney B-sides (and other bands): http://ivemadeyouatape.blogspot.fr/2011 ... sions.html

3 years after, the links are still up, it is a great collection of B-sides and live sessions from DVD's or radio broadcasts. :D

Sleater-Kinney have announced plans to reissue their entire discography as a new vinyl box set. Entitled Start Together, the seven-LP collection will hit stores on October 21st via Sub Pop Records.
The box set will feature remastered versions of all seven Sleater-Kinney studio albums, pressed on colored vinyl. Also included is a 44-page hardcover book of rare photos from the band’s personal collections, along with an exclusive art print. Pre-orders are ongoing through the label’s website, but hurry: copies are limited to 3,000.
The remasters were carried out by engineer Greg? Calbi (Lou Reed, Talking Heads, St. Vincent). Calbi discussed the process in an issued statement, saying, “For such ferocious music, it was actually a very delicate process. I found, in dealing with one of the earlier albums, that my signal path and compression, including my Burl B2 convertor, gave me a more resonant, deeper sound on the guitars than the originals.” He continued, “Because the band rarely, if ever, used bass, I felt that this added to the aggressiveness and power of the band overall. I believe this treatment added a subtle, yet important, dimension to the band, and I explored each of the other albums with the same intention.”
Sub Pop will also release the remastered albums on standalone CD and black vinyl. Starting today, the reissues are also available for purchase digitally.

Hey, cool! I've already got Dig Me Out and The Hot Rock on vinyl, so I'm glad I don't have to re-buy those in some insane box set.

FUCK YEAH!

Particularly interested in a remaster of their debut. I love that record but the production is total shit.
