All of the clues were there in last night's episode! But I haven't seen any non-readers picking up on them...not that they'd be easy, though:

Really tempted to mention to Mitch cumstein in the show thread that the Red Viper/poison thing isn't a spoiler in the whodunit? of the wedding

I haven't watched last night's ep yet, but I'm really surprised this episode already happened. I would've thought they'd milk Joffrey's character at least until midseason. Plus, if I recall, the Red Viper/Mountain duel came almost immediately on the heels of the wedding. I imagined they'd want to utilize the Viper's character for most of this season too. He only had a short stay in the book, but he really was a compelling figure.

How do you guys think the next few eps will play out then? I guess its also possible they could weave some of the stories from the fourth book into this season too - since, it was supposed to take place simultaneous to this book, right?

I think it's actually pretty clear from the upcoming episode titles--but since some people may not have looked at those, I'll put them under a spoiler:
Spoiler: show
Episode 3 - "The Breaker of Chains" - Obviously focuses on Dany + Co. taking Meereen.
Episode 4 - "Oathkeeper" - There could be a lot in here, but probably includes Jamie sending Brienne away. Also probably includes Jaime and Cersei banging on top of Joffrey's corpse.
Episode 5 - "First of His Name" - Deals with Tommen's ascension and the powerplays that happen there.
Episode 6 - "The Laws of Gods and Men" - I'm not sure, but maybe Wall-centric?
Episode 7 - "Mockingbird" - Mayor Carcetti of the Vale returns, I assume! We'll find out what's happening with Sansa, and Joffrey's true killer revealed.
Episode 8 - "The Mountain and the Viper" - Here's the big payoff!
Episode 9 - "The Watchers on the Wall" - Probably a huge episode focusing on the battle for Castle Black.
Episode 10 - "The Children" - RIP Tywin; Arya and Tyrion both flee for the Free Cities; Bran gets underground (they're the "children" of the title).

Let's critique non-book readers' theories!

From the TV show thread:
The Argonaut wrote:I think it was Sanza, but it's hard to see her having the balls to do it by herself. Either someone coached and helped her, or she's actually finally reached the limits of her desperation and is almost a new person. I'd say it could be the new bride, but killing the king before she has a son basically makes her powerless again, no? Unless she's going to try to keep the throne for herself and away from the next little Lannaster, leveraging her popularity with the regular people. Danaerys is really more of the democratic queen, though.
He's pretty close! Tweak it just a bit (Sansa is a pawn/vessel and not an active participant) and it's a different Tyrell who's part of it, and it's basically dead on. And of course Margery is just going to hop to the next "king" in line--she's already been paired with two of them.

AndySlash wrote:it has to be the fool, right? haven't seen him in two seasons or something, he shows up last episode and then at this one at the right moment? that was my immediate thought.

it can't be tyrion, no way. sansa, maybe given she did have her hands on the cup, but i think she'd be too wussy to actually go through with it, let alone even know what/where to get poison or whatever this was.

and then cersei was pretty much set up this ep as having all the reason to do it. oberyn has to be considered as well.
If I were going to try and swerve him away from being in the right direction, I'd throw at him: but Dontos was never close enough to Joffrey's cup! But, of course, there's a clear line from Dontos-->Sansa-->Queen of Thorns.

More theories:
Chris_H_2 wrote:Nothing of the nod from Loras Tyrell to Oberyn Martell, or is that too obvious?
Probably a result of the show playing up the man-on-man action that was kept very sub-textual in the book.

Well (from the TV thread)...
tommymctom wrote:I think it was Marjorie's grandmother - she was closest to the wine before he died.
Either tommymctom is very observant or he's trolling over there. To be fair, I think the show has set up the fact that the QoT is worried about Joffrey's cruelty very well, so if you've been paying attention, it may not be a huge surprise. I'm surprised more people aren't guessing her.

The Queen of Thorns (Margerey's grandmother) was the one who actually put the poison there, although Dontos helped use Sansa as the go-between. In the book, she had a poison pill in her hairnet; it looks like it's her necklace on TV. Littlefinger is the mastermind here, looking to take bone Sansa for a while and gain control of the Vale.

Based on some links in the TV show thread, there are people out there posting "theories" about the TV show that are actually just spoilers. Not cool. Have there really been any other "mysteries" on this show? Or has it been more like, "Just don't tell me what happens next!" (if that difference makes any sense).

sure there is, like "who is Jon Snow's mother?" and "what happened to Benjen Stark?"

I guess the Jon Snow stuff qualifies, since it's all-but-confirmed. The Benjen thing hasn't developed far enough yet for it to spoil-able, though.
