cool, thanks t2b.turned2black wrote:I've had this in the past. It's more or less an "overuse" injury. Mine is made worst by the fact that I have some bone fragments floating around in my right ankle. I treat it the same way I treat my sketchy Achilles, that is I stretch the hell out of it by doing heel raises and Achilles stretches and try to keep my feet elevated when sitting down.EJ wrote:hey t2b or any runners here - what's your experience/recovery with peroneal tendonitis?
I'm guessing that's what I'm experiencing right now after a run on Sunday. Some dull pain that comes and goes under my outside right ankle bone. Seems the worse in the morning. I don't run much, but I deadlift/squat 2 or 3 times a week. Putting those on hold for the week while I figure this out.
Here are more exercises.

Re: The running/exercise streak thread
I had a nice streak of 4 days going, a mixture of long walks and shorter walking/jogging/running sessions to try to build up stamina, but I had to take a day off today because of my allergy shots (not supposed to exercise for something like 24 hours). Oh, well.

Canal run. Warm night. It was over 100 today. Even split. Quarter-mile kick. Calves were fine.

Ran with my oldest daughter in the big stroller. We talked the whole way and I took it easy. My daughter is smart as fuck. I have no idea what my splits were and no finishing kick. Warm night. Enjoyable run.

After spending 4 hours tossing and turning, I ended up running at 3 in the morning. Felt zombie-like. 19 out. 17 back. Decent finishing kick. Never went to sleep. Gonna hit the TV Towers again on Saturday. I'd like to start running it twice a week for the next month or so and see if I can set a new PR.

Saturday: 10 miles in 68 minutes
Solid 6 a.m. run. Some kind of running group was doing mile sprints on one section of the canal. On the way back, one dude decided to race me. I won. Probably a sub-6 mile. 35 out. 33 back. My finishing kick was lacking as I spent a shitload of energy racing the dude.
Sunday: 13.1 miles in 91 minutes
Run with my oldest daughter in the stroller. 43 minute first half, then a fucking nasty fade. Ugh.
I love the Fresh Foams, but I don't feel as connected to the ground and my form kinda suffers. They are also not great on the trail. Gonna switch to the 1600s for the Grand Canyon runs, then switch back to the Fresh Foams if I do a road marathon in the fall.

7.5 miles in 2,400 in elevation change in 64 minutes
A double day. Beautiful AZ evening. Witnessed a spectacular sunset on the homestretch. Having too much fun to really push it and was kinda surprised with a sub-65 finish. Also surprised to see two rattlers on a cool(ish) night. A run to die for and a nice recovery from this morning's shitty run.
30+ mile weekend. I ended up dropping 5 lbs. this week.

9th: Leg Centric Workout
10th: 4 miles on the treadmill
11th: Chest Centric Workout
12th: 4 miles on the treadmill
13th: 2.5 hours running dogs at the shelter, this has been really awesome with the weather change.
Going to try and map out some specific mileage loops for the mornings. To be honest I have not found a good groove with alternating weight-training and logging miles. Just going to focus on the miles until at least May 4th, plus I'll be in California for a week and I've got some pretty nice runs planned.

15th: 3.106 on the tread, shit-ass day outside so I took my average from yesterday and just dialed it in. Solid run and felt far less taxed than yesterday. Long run set for Thursday, with a practice hike Saturday so it'll be interesting if the results stick.

Tuesday: 7.5 miles with 2,400 in elevation change in 64 minutes
Early morning trail run. Haven't done a trail run before work in forever. Dropped the kids off at school then headed out. Trail was empty. Beautiful morning. Great run.
Felt a tingle of cold coming on and downed a shitload echinacea and drank a ton of water at work.
Wednesday: 5 miles in 34 minutes
Early morning canal run. Even split. Cold/cough didn't get any worse.
Streak: 109

Re: The running/exercise streak thread
16th: 3.6, three 1.2 mile jogs with each pup.
17th: Core, body-weight exercises and stretching, got out of work late due to an impromptu day off today and wrapping things up for vacation next week.
18th: 10 miles on the tread, bit under my weekly average but feel more confident than two weeks out from my last half.
Streak: 105
10+ mile training hike scheduled for tomorrow, really looking forward to that.

19th: 9.4 as noted by a 'pebble' on the trail, great day weather wise.
20th: 90 minutes of running pups at the shelter, kinda nice with only ACOs and volunteers present.
