You know, I never saw Clerks 2. I'm going to have to fix that.

"Hit Somebody". It's now being made into a TV series. "Clerks III" will be his last movie. At least that's what he says.

I thought Kevin Smith just sat around and watched the Walking Dead these days?

He's a better on-stage storyteller and pop culture commentator than he is a filmmaker, something he admits. I think it endears a lot of people to him, how candid he is about the ins-and-outs of Hollywood. That said, movies like the original "Clerks" and "Mallrats" and "Chasing Amy" were some of my favorite films when I was 13, so I'll always have a place in my heart for them, even while recognizing their many flaws.

Exactly.

Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma all mean a lot to me for different reasons. But I think all four of those films are good to great. I also really liked Red State.

I guess I get it, he seems like a pretty genuine guy. I just really only loved Clerks and Chasing Amy. Dogma I found pretty frustrating. Didn't care for Clerks II as I find Rosario Dawson to be pretty freaking terrible, although she was good in Seven Pounds. I have not seen Red State.

Even with your lukewarm feelings about Keven Smith, I'd highly recommend Red State. It's a completely different thing. A break from his usual sort of thing.

It's almost like a Cohen Brothers movie. It has that style about it, anyway.

verb_to_trust wrote:Clerks II was great....I just don't know where they can go with a III after the way they ended II. From what I remember it took some real convincing to get the guy who played Randal on board....

And seriously, Rosario Dawson.... :heartbeat:

There's something quite mesmerising about that clip.
