Really sad to hear... For some reason I always hoped he would get better..
For those who didn't knew, he's been in a semi-comatose state since a car accident in 2008..

Sad news for sure. I'd always hoped he'd pull through but as the years passed it seemed less likely. While sad for us I'm sure he is in a better place now
I wonder if and when the band will decide to put Eros out. It would be a great tribute to the man

Wow - really sad. What a shitty way to go out. I hope he is in a better place even though I seriously doubt it. Hopefully his friends and family can get some closure.
EDIT: Also, Deftones are fucking rad. If you don't listen to them you should check them out. They continuously get lumped in with other early 2000s bands like Korn but they are so much better than that. Their most recent album is great (even without Chi).

oh wow I had forgotten about this. I assumed he had recovered sinceI hadnt heard much about it in the past 4 years. Terribly sad. The Deftones were prett huge for me for a few years in the late 90s and early 00s. What a killer debut album.
Less judgement, more curiosity.

Before today - the last I'd heard was that he seemed to be recovering, so this was somewhat of a shock...

All I know about this band is a photograph, that may have been taken by Ross Halfin, in Amsterdam, I think, with the main dude by a street pole smoking a huge joint.
I am sure there is more to them than this!

Still on a major Deftones kick... Add Palms and ††† to the mix.

Every time I see a new post in this thread it gives me hope that Chi's condition has improved - only to have those hopes dashed again

If I were a mod, I'd merge this thread and every other RIP thread into the one I made.
