i got bugs wrote:the story was cool n all, but i was all in awe with the space visuals most of the time.. i thought the 3d made this.. i dont think it would be as good on my living room tv.. felt like i was floatin out there too..
i got all this rebirth thing, with her in space looking like a fetus and then when she comes out fro the water and cant walk right...but to me there are some weird things there too...maybe is just her own dream? she arrives at this weird place on earth that looks like paradise...is she dead?
I just thought it was weird to see that last shot of her and that paradise looking place.
Wasn't all that just part of the narrative metaphor involving her overcoming the all-consuming loss of her only child?
Anyway, finally saw this last night and thought overall it was fantastic. Bullock's monologues were a tab cheesy at times but it's got what are probably the best action sequences set in space I have ever seen. Just thrilling in so many places it makes me wish I had managed to see it in 3D during it's theatrical run. A well deserved Oscar for Cuarón.
