I was in much the same boat last year (though it took us a few months to take in, usually one episode per night).

Incredible show, really looking forward to seeing next week's episode.

I wasn't able to watch last night. But I've got it DVR'd. Hopefully, tonight.

i'm happy it's back even though it's the final season. i've missed pete campbell's receding hairline.
so last night was good but as was the case last season, i get the feeling most of the season will be observational snippets of each character's life without much commentary on how relevant any of it is to the series. i'm not sure that's a problem but i walked away from a number of shows last season kind of scratching my head thinking - welp. that was cool... does it mean anything in the context of the show?

The series is the characters and their lives (whether it connects with others or not).

Grantland's Molly Lambert writes some of the best recaps of Mad Men. I thought she nailed today's piece.

I thought the opener was OK. The Peggy story line really interests me. She gave up her personal life for a career, and now what does she have?

Yeah, very hard to judge a show like this based on one episode. I spent most of the episode trying to figure out how last season ended for all the characters.
