Guys, its been a couple of weeks into a brand new system. I am sure they are aware of the flaws and a lot of them will be resolved as people become more aware of it. Additionally, the time wasted isnt really all that much worse than manager and player arguments. id say about 80 percent of the replay challanges ive seen have lasted 2 minutes or less.

Now I agree there are far better ways to do replay, and I really hope they evolve into an NHL like system. I really hate "challenge" systems because it penalizes teams for officiating mistakes, But getting rid of it because its "taking too long" is just silly.

Delays aside, baseball just isnt conducive to replay. You can find something wrong with just about every bang bang play if you break it down frame by frame.

I think its far more conducive to replay than the other sports- football its a lot harder to see whats going on in a lot of cases because of the number of bodies. NHL and NBA have to limit their replays so specifically because there are no natural stoppages after every play. Im very glad they have decided to implement a replay system in baseball, and hope it gets expanded to automated ball and strike calls in the future.

Rarely do we disagree Skitch, but I couldnt disagree more. One of my biggest fears is that it will eventually lead to a computer calling the balls and strikes.

Personally I wouldn't havea problem with it - kind of like how they use it for every shot in tennis - but I can understand the argument against it and am fine without it. It boggles my mind, though, how some umps have their own strike zone, and as long as they are consistently wrong with it, they are doing their job.
