decided last minute to go to the orb show at first avenue last night. they're only doing something like 10 dates across the US, and i wasn't sure if i'd get a chance to see them again, so i went. didn't know what to expect for a crowd with it being easter sunday but also 4/20, and there only ended up being maybe 200 people there. it was worth it to go; after a long and occasionally stressful weekend i just let myself get into the moment and had a lot of fun, really. very glad i decided to pull the trigger and make it down there. it made for a good start to the week.
ah, copperplate, a font for the truly modern man.

And I was not disappointed. No encore but clocked in right at three hours. It was anything but a greatest hits set but still plenty for the casual radio fan to enjoy. They started strong and only got better the longer they played. It was tight and incredibly well rehearsed, which is doubly impressive considering how much they mix it up night to night. Looking forward to my first full Arcade Fire show tonight. I saw them at Bridge a few years back ('11?) and enjoyed what I saw. I'm leaving right after work so I won't be dressing up or anything.
