Empire was at least 3% black cast. That's an accurate reflection of society, right?

I mean, it's not like we're talking about Lord of the Rings, here, or anything like that.
Wasn't it filmed in England? There aren't black people in England, are there?

Please answer this honestly, as it could have a profound impact on my life choices from this point forward.

With the hectic speed of the shots and ultra quick editing Abrams prefers, you're unlikely to notice any fat.

I like a good fat-Luke joke, but Mark Hamill has clearly been on a diet.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Hey! We've got some official Star Wars: Episode VII casting news to share with you today! After all of the rumors, talk and speculation we now know who will be star in J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated film. So without future ado, here's the cast for Star Wars: Episode VII:

John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the sci-fi fantasy saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.

The photo above features the Abrams surrounded by the cast, and this is what the director had this to say in a statement:

"We are so excited to finally share the cast of 'Star Wars: Episode VII.' It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."
We all knew the original cast would be back to reprise their roles, but it's so comforting to know that it's all set in stone. I can relax now. As for the new members of the cast… these are all great choices and fantastic actors. I seriously can't wait to finally see the story that the filmmakers are planning to tell come to life on the big screen!

The movie opens in theaters worldwide on December 18th, 2015.

Congratulations everybody else on the list for not being the wearying disappointment that is Harrison Ford.

what are the chances that just one of these new characters is not the son or daughter of somebody in the original trilogy?

Dear Mr Williams:

Unfortunately, we already have our token black actor for this film lined up. We will keep your resume on file and, should any possible future openings coincide with your skill set, a representative will be sure to contact you for an interview.

Thanks,

And just like that, the casting of a Star Wars movie has set back race relations.
