Thursday: 5 miles in 35 minutes
Early morning run.
Friday: 7.5 miles with 2,400 in elevation gain in 61 minutes
Left work early for the trail. Felt fantastic and pushed it pretty hard. 3 minutes off my trail PR.
Saturday: 10 in 70 minutes
Canal run in 90 degree heat. Wasted afterward.
Sunday: 10 in 74 minutes
Stroller run with the baby.
Monday: 5 miles in 34 minutes
Early morning run.
Streak: 114 (pretty sure I'm over 1,000 miles for the year so far)

Re: The running/exercise streak thread
I'm out as of Saturday. Streak reached 118 days. Got a cold early this week and it aggravated my Valley Fever.
Good luck, oasisfan35. I hope I have to make a shirt for you.

21st: 2 miles on the tread before heading to airport.
22nd: 7ish mile out and back up to the Mulholland Overlook (Westridge Trail, Sullivan Canyon), this was a great run.
23rd: 6 mile out and back Venice Pier to Santa Monica Pier.
24th: 3ish mile out and back along the beach from outside our hotel room in Coronado, best fit for the days of meetings. Running on the beach was also fantastic.
25th: Same as above.
26th: Same, except a bit sluggish from the evening's festivities and some strong fuckin' winds taking a bit of a toll on the run out.
27th: 5 mile loop by the beach in our neighborhood, wasn't in the best running condition after a week away nutrition wise and a red-eye flight but used mapmyrun for the first time and though I started too fast I did even out comfortably.
Streak: 114
And now a bit of a taper for the half in Providence on Sunday.

10 miles in 66 minutes
Ended up taking 4 days off. I was ready to go and loaded up a Mastadon playlist. 90% effort. Even split. Hacked up a lung and puked afterward. Fuck yeah!

Re: The running/exercise streak thread
Well... to start we felt awfully pressed for time since it was 90 minutes away and obviously had to hit packet pick-up that morning but after getting there that went pretty smoothly. Well enough organized but could have used a few more people at registration. I wasn't nervous for this run but I felt that I should be so that was unsettling though everything ran pretty smooth until around mile 8 (except for the damn BOOM! packet at mile 1.5 which sat like a rock for a while) at 8 I felt myself slow and some soreness creep in. I asked myself "what the fuck is that about" and pressed on but I could feel I was slowing overall, I am also still poor at settling on a comfortable pace; I'll be getting more road miles in and using MapMyRun on my phone to aid.turned2black wrote:Nice! Trudging along in that manner until mile 10 when I encountered a nasty fuckin' headwind that simple did not quit until mile 12.5 or so. This all negatively affected my time obviously and though I gained 14 minutes on my last race I was 10 off where I wanted to be. I will say that my body as a whole felt immensely better than last time, hence my running with the dog after, and just a bit tight in the quads today. I'm still pretty pissed about the time which rolls in to blaming my effort so now I'm looking on to July (Jamestown) much harder than before... disappointment and pain, fuel the fire.
Also, even though I was passing a lot of people for the first third or so I was not doing so within 25K people... 3-4K seems like a much more manageable and enjoyable event but what I did miss was the plethora of goodies tossed at you after the R'n'R event but there are pros and cons to everything.
5th: Core work, leg raise, hanging oblique raise, full leg raise supersets (burned like a mofo). I may attempt some sort of stretching routine later with planks, etc. but I don't think I've ever done a plank.
Streak: 122

Re: The running/exercise streak thread
6th: 2 miles on the tread then a series of twelve hip flexor stretches, after the race it's fairly apparent that more stretching is in order.
7th: 3.106 on the tread, still adjusting to the morning runs so hopefully out on the road before the work-week is through.
Streak: 124
Got word of a fundraiser 5K next town over in a few weeks and have a few 5 mile road races queued before the hike in June.
