He is boinking Emma Stone. That's certainly something to be jealous of.

Even the positive reviews for this seem to say "stay away".

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (7/19/14)
The fifth Spider-Man feature, which is the sequel to the unnecessary reboot, is all over the place, an undercooked cinematic casserole that blends some genuinely touching moments and well-presented action sequences with bad melodrama, overlong exposition, and overexposed CGI. There are too many negatives to keep the experience from being the kind of giddy adrenaline rush one hopes for with a Big Summer Flick.
There are some good moments in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, especially toward the end, but the whole thing seems to have been assembled by filmmakers tone-deaf to what constitutes compelling cinema. Key relationships are given short shrift. The central villain (to the extent that there is one) is all bluster and no menace. The "resolution" to the mystery of Richard and Mary Parker is an anti-climax.

Read that review this morning - James Berardinelli is the only critic I even bother reading.Rangi Guy wrote:The fifth Spider-Man feature, which is the sequel to the unnecessary reboot, is all over the place, an undercooked cinematic casserole that blends some genuinely touching moments and well-presented action sequences with bad melodrama, overlong exposition, and overexposed CGI. He's definitely not wrong. The more I think about this movie, the more I realize what's wrong with it. But I can't deny its charms, and its strength in the smaller, more isolated character moments amidst the cartoonish chaos, as well as the genuinely well-realized & visually striking action scenes. It entertains about as much as it bewilders and frustrates.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (7/19/14)
I dont think it was as bad as they say? but it definitely didnt build off the last Amazing Spider-man...
ya basically just had a 2 movie / 4 hour buildup that whomever Peter loves, dies, and now hes going to face more super villains than he can handle?
There was a lot of pointless action (the 2 aeroplanes nearly colliding?)
and because of the constant, we have to out blow up the previous super hero movie, thinking, Electro was tossing out more volts than Storm and Thor combined. (Granted Fox has really under used Storm so far)
I just like this movie, was Amazing Spider-man 1B

I really dont get the hate on this film.
I was glued on my chair the entire movie, nothing disapointed me.
Andrew was perfect in his role, as Stone and Dean DeHaan.
Some people were complaining about

I thought it was really good outside of some occasional silly villain characterization. Pretty emotional. Between this and Capt it's been a nice superhero summer. Hoping GOTG is good too. I'll probably pass on X-Men.

i dont hate the movie but i was meh with it. seemed to be more peter and gwen dont know how to stay apart with a few web slinging parts thrown in. while andrew and emmas chemistry is undeniable it just felt more like a teen romance book than a spiderman movie. the parts with spiderman were definitely well done but for me there werent enough.
id give it a C+
