I forgot chud said it, but in the books thread we mused about chud thinking himself out of the answer. He's a man to come here and admit he was wrong.

pretty big reveal by lysa there, no?, since the show's events all trace back to her admitted actions. and if i couldn't possibly find her character more repulsive, this episode added some new layers.

i had completely forgotten theon's sister existed until the preview for the next episode.

on another note, and let me know if i missed anything that would say otherwise, i kind of think tywin may be in on the joffrey killing, or at least is aware of it. him and momma tyrell had a curious conversation in the purple wedding episode, and with her being outed to us as the one who put the poison in the cup i'm thinking he knows. tywin was so quick to move on last episode, too, that it made me think this is all going according to a "plan", though perhaps he is unaware of littlefinger's involvement. cersei basically admitted joffrey was a problem this episode, and tywin seemed to know this a long time ago- maybe he felt it was time to do something.

My favorite episode of the season so far. The Lysa/Litterfinger scene. Just...WHAT!? Game changer. No pun intended.

I love how 35 hours of episodes has it's genesis summed up in a 5-second blurb that was immediately hushed.

Both people I was watching with who hadn't read the books were a little confused by that scene, Both haven't seen season one in like 2 years so I can see why they couldn't remember the starting point to the series.

Yeah, in the book thread recently I started spewing about the "most important character in the series," and I had totally forgotten this stuff about Jon Arryn hadn't been revealed yet. From "the seed is strong" to his murder basically setting off the North vs. the Lannisters, he's certainly in the running...even though only his body has only appeared on screen.

So Littlefinger is basically Ryan O'Reilly.

No one got that joke on Twiter, Skitch, and no one gets it here!

At least, I don't.

It's not a joke! it's an actual statement.

Basically, on OZ, everything that happens is a result of what Ryan O'Reilly wants. He is a master manipulator willing to switch sides without notice or warning, whatever serves his purpose. It may not ever seem like it directly ties to him, but it almost always does.

i don't know anything about this series, but i'm picturing littlefinger as a mickey type, just according to the imagery the name evokes. is that true?

Ah, I've never seen Oz! I thought you meant the hockey player. I am hoping it's one of the HBO shows that jumps to Amazon Prime later this month.
