At least, I don't.
It's not a joke! it's an actual statement.
Basically, on OZ, everything that happens is a result of what Ryan O'Reilly wants. He is a master manipulator willing to switch sides without notice or warning, whatever serves his purpose. It may not ever seem like it directly ties to him, but it almost always does.

Did we get some set recycling? That path to the vale looked a lot like the valley that the wildlings met up with the Thenns. P cool to see the Bloody Gate even though it wasn't there when Catelyn took Tyrion. Really makes you feel for the season 1 budget constraints

I took it like they were slipping in the backdoor, since Littlefinger mentioned staying away from a better watched path.

The Hound taunting Arya about "the greatest swordsman ever" getting killed by Meryn Trant was fun.

Re: HBO: Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire)
Littlefinger wanted to pit the Starks vs. the Lannisters to put the realm into war so that he could find a way to gain power out of it. I'm not sure if it was out of love for Catelyn that he did it, but he got Lysa to poison her husband Jon Arryn. This is what caused Robert to ask Ned to become his Hand of the King. Lysa did this because she is in love with Littlefinger (Remember, he was around Riverrun, the home of Catelyn Stark and Lysa Arryn).Strat wrote:Monkey_Driven wrote:Both people I was watching with who hadn't read the books were a little confused by that scene, Both haven't seen season one in like 2 years so I can see why they couldn't remember the starting point to the series.Chris_H_2 wrote:I love how 35 hours of episodes has it's genesis summed up in a 5-second blurb that was immediately hushed.

I still question a lot of this as something that was put into the story after the fact to create a twist. It was largely believed that Ser Hugh of the Vale poisoned Jon Arryn on the orders of the Lannisters because he was getting close to knowing about Joffrey being a bastard. One of the first scenes of the show is Cersei and Jamie talking over his corpse hinting at their involvement. Why else would they make Jon's squire a knight?

Last time Tyrion was involved in a trial by combat, he requested Jaime and ended up with Bronn. Does he have either of those options again and if so, will he opt for the one-handed Jaime, and would Jaime even accept the call?
