I think that whatever Coach/GM/Owner selects Manziel early in Round 1 is setting himself up for one of the biggest draft day busts ever...

It pained me to put Manziel that high because I hope that he busts. But after more thought I had to reconsider.

I think that you have him right around where he's going to be taken...I just question the NFL exec who makes that decision.

Coincidentally enough, the Browns just signed Vince Young. Longhorns fans would enjoy some serious schadenfreude if VY somehow won the starter's job from Manziel.

I think once (if) he gets the gist of the NFL, he'll be good. He's tall (6'5"), and faster than Sammy. He never really lived up to the potential at Clemson though, and honestly, I was surprised he declared. I thought he should have stayed for his senior year. I was hoping Washington would draft him, but then they got Jackson, so no need to draft a WR now. He'll be a 3rd round pick, and develop into a nice player I think, but it's hard to tell b/c he was a little inconsistent at Clemson. He did have a helluva game against Ohio State in the Orange Bowl though.

Yeah, I was thinking the 3rd was about right as well. A little developmental time doesn't worry me--on the Broncos this year, Bryant wouldn't absolutely have to produce big numbers right away. But if they let Welker (or even worse, Demaryius Thomas) walk next year, they could be in trouble at that position, so a little preparation for the future couldn't hurt. I'm still pissed they let Tavarres King get away.

you really believe that Mack should be a 2nd rounder? I am obviously biased that he played at my alama mater, but the guy has been a freak and only seemed to get better against ranked teams. I never bought the hype that he's a #1 pick, but he was always a top half of the draft player in my eyes.

yesterday people started talked about Tampa trading up to #2, i will be ok with just about anyone that Tampa drafts this year but i really dont want them trading up unless its for Clowney and even then i wont be thrilled they gave up so much to do it.

im pretty sure that i hate Manzel but i really dont know anyhting about him other then he is small, thinks way too much of himself and looks kinda like a gremlin/troll, but im at the point now that id be ok if the Bucs take him at #7. im probably stupid for feeling this way but i really dont want them to pick Mike Evans at #7, maybe its because EVERYONE seems to have him mocked to them and its gotten boring, but i think IF they plan on getting both a QB and a WR then they need the QB in the first because there is still gonna be a lot of value left in the 2nd round WRs. my ideal first round would have the Bucs trading back to around 12 or 14, hopefully getting another 2nd and or 3rd rounder and taking a falling QB like Bortles or Bridgewater or taking Derek Carr, then loading up on WRs in the 2nd

What do you think about Evans? he will probably be a stud but for some reason i feel like he will be a bust. Id definitely prefer Watkins but no chance he is available at #7 or id still prefer a slight trade back for Odell Beckham Jr.
As far as QBs, im worried by the bucs 2nd rounder many could be gone, is see Cleveland taking one with one of their first, Minnesota taking one in the first, Arizona possibly taking one in the first, then Houston, Jacksonville, and Oakland taking one in the 2nd, so they could dry up quick

As far as the WR goes, as long as they are good enough to draw some extra coverage once in a while, I don't care who they pick. Tampa already has a stud in Vincent Jackson, just need someone to free him up once in a while.

It ended up being a function of there being several other pass rushers that I've been higher on. Murphy and Crichton in particular are two guys that I would be very with if they somehow fall to the Broncos at #63 (can't imagine a team like the Giants will let that happen, though).

It's tough to say what type of QB Lovie would want. If he wants a Jay Cutler-style QB again then Bortles makes the most sense. I still have this feeling they'll go defense to get the Tampa 2 back in order. Either Mosley, a pass rusher, or maybe a safety.

That would be an overload of Spartan QBs given they already have Hoyer.

I believe he could be a LB in a 4-3 right away and not really miss a beat. I don't know if I would make the claim that he would need to adjust too much to 3-4 OLB considering that he will mostly be rushing the QB or disrupting the run from the position. Even so, he can still play coverage depending on the scheme. I just don't see it being that much of a dropoff.

I'm going to watch Wolf of Wall Street tonight instead. By time it's over I'll be able to look through the NFL's first round all at once. Honestly I've cared a lot less about it this year than before; I've gotten to the point with the NFL that I'm oversatured and my interest pendulum pretty much only swings on game day. Even the fantasy stuff isn't as much fun anymore. Why should I care if San Diego's second WR might be a late scratch on a 4pm start or if Monday's QB is questionable in a game that I otherwise wouldn't be interested in?

Ugh. Now there are reports that Tampa is looking at Manziel and if that happens they'll trade Glennon to Houston. If Tampa ends up with Manziel I will not be happy.
