Damn straight it is. I tried to get them to play this at the VIP soundcheck I went to, but they said they couldn't remember how to play it

A kangaroo court is a judicial tribunal or assembly that blatantly disregards recognized standards of law or justice, and often carries little or no official standing in the territory within which it resides.

A kangaroo court is often held by a group or a community to give the appearance of a fair and just trial, even though the verdict has in reality already been decided before the trial has begun. Such courts typically take place in rural areas where legitimate law enforcement may be limited. The term may also apply to a court held by a legitimate judicial authority who intentionally disregards the court's legal or ethical obligations.
Ah! You know, I remember looking that up now.. the song makes pretty good sense I guess..

I never gave Undertow a fair chance until a few months back as I didn't think much of Sober when it came out

It's solid, really good in all actuality, but for me it pales in comparison to everything after it.

1 - Lateralus (I mostly just am in love with the sound of this record. It's nestled perfectly between the sounds of AEnima and 10000 Days. The Grudge, The Patient, and Schism are all favorites. Parabol/Parabola is fantastic. The drums on T & L  . Lateralus is my hands down favorite Tool song. Disposition/Reflection is incredible. And the end creeps me out)
2a|2b - AEnima/10000 Days (What a cop out, I know. If I'm choosing one to lay down and listen all the way through I prefer 10000 Days, because it's such a majestic journey. But then I look at the tracklist on AEnima and am remind how unbelievably stacked it is, and it's almost crazy not to call it their very best album.)
4 - Undertow (Good shit here, but it almost sounds like Tool before they matured into Tool and I prefer the matured Tool)

It's top 5 for me, but I think my number one is Third Eye.

I've always wanted to listen to that while on an ayahuasca trip, or even just some mushrooms. Unfortunately my drug experimentation days came before my Tool listening days.

1. Aenima. There are just more quality songs on here than any other record
2. Lateralus
3. Undertow. Two and three are very close. I probably like Sober and Prison Sex more than any song on Lateralus, but the sound and feel of Lateralus is better.
4. Opiate
5. 10,000 Days

You don't like 10,000 Days Stip?

nope. I was incredibly disappointed with it. I liked vicarious and the 10000 days/wings for marie sequence. I guess jambi was okay. It felt really uninspired, tool by numbers, bland, and inexcusable for the amount of time they take between records.

I actually really loved those first 4 albums. At one point I would have called tool my third favorite band. I also really loved the first two A Perfect Circle records (not the one with passive an annihilation, but those are both cool songs). But 10,000 days and then nothing for years and years has kinda led to them fizzling out for me. I'm open to falling in love again, though

Oh I'm definitely getting to the point of losing interest due to inactivity on new material, but I think 10000 Days was a great representation of their art and sound.

Rosetta Stoned is pretty sweet.
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be the one.
Born to bear and read to all
The details of our ending.
To write it down for all the world to see.
But I forgot my pen,
Shit the bed again,
Typical.
