Alright guys, since the first mix came in a few days early I figured I'd post it and get the ball rolling. So, here's RM Secret Mix #1...

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing

Let me know if you guys have trouble accessing it. I'll keep all of the links up in the OP (at least for as long as I have space for them).

Happy listening and reviewing!

Has anyone tried downloading the mix yet? I'm just curious as to whether or not it's working via Google Drive. If it's not I'll put it up on dropbox.

Yeah, I was thinking that after I had uploaded it. I will make sure to upload them as a zip file next mix.

If it's too big of a hassle for people this go-round, and can reupload it as a zip file in the next day or so.

Fuck it. I'm uploading it to Drive as a single zip file as we speak. It should be up there soon.

There's the link to the mix as a single zip file. Whoever downloads it first, just let me know that it works. I'll fix the URL in the OP.

So... This mix seems to focus on old bands as well as newer bands sounding like old bands. Think classick folk/rock, soft rock kind of stuff, mostly typically American kind of music. I recognized a few classic bands like
Spoiler: show
Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Beatles, some Beck
and probably missed a few others of the same caliber.

While I have nothing against that kind of sound per se as a good part of my music listening is probably rooted in blues and rock, there just wasn't much for me to really get excited about here. It was overall a bit too mellow/sirupy/summery for my taste to begin with, but I also think a lot of these tracks were a little bland and lacked personality. On a brighter note I did enjoy the tracks that opened and closed the mix.

That sounds like something dct or Doc would listen to.
