Aren't there a bunch of hot sand women or something that should be a big part of Season 5? The Viper's daughters maybe? I look forward to that.

They could basically leave King's Landing behind and make Season 5 all about Dorne and the Wall (with some trips to Mereen) but they won't, I'm sure. They could leave Arya out of Season 6 completely and just have her pop up halfway through her faceless (wo)man training in Season 6, but since her character is so popular, people would rage.

I don't think the show will abandon any characters. They aren't going to split action like the books did. It'll all be linear and chronological.

Some part of me wishes they had used vargo hoat and the brave companions, but I can see why they cut it out.

-Mountain vs Red Viper
-Lysa getting tossed
-Tyrion finishing off Tywin
-Daneryus wasting time

Anything I'm missing?
I'm surprised Stannis hasn't shown up at the Wall yet, I figured for sure that would be included this season.

I wonder how they will handle Littlefinger killing Lysa, he doesn't have the singer around to take the blame. How is he going to get away with it?

Probably bring in a random singer, or just use a servant or something like that. Just tweak the story a bit. It'll be an easy change.

Yeah you're probably right.

Reading the other thread I'm surprised people are guessing the Mountain vs Red Viper. Maybe people are just much smarter than me but I couldn't imagine putting that together without having read the books. When was the mountain even in the show last? Is it too cynical to think maybe some people read the books and pretend they didn't?

No, I think you're right. I think A LOT of internet users are book readers who pretend they haven't read. Not necessarily anyone on RM, but the internet at large.

On the other hand, the show has done a great job of setting up Red Viper v Mountain by having Oberyn mention The Mountain and revenge in each episode he's been in. I think it's easier to draw that line on the show that it was reading the book.

Damn you man, you're probably right again! :) I didn't think about how he nevers fails to bring up the Mountain.

This is definitely happening. The best proof was the people who figured out that Lady Tyrell poisoned Joffrey, and not just guessed, but went as far as to show the still with her fiddling with the necklace. No way people put that together.

Stannis the Motherfucking Mannis will show up at the end of episode 9 in a similar fashion to Tywin and Loras for the battle of the Blackwater

They could hurry it along and prove me wrong, but I don't think Stannis makes it to the Wall this season. He was just leaving Bravos and if I remember right there's a smaller Wildling attack on the Wall before the big daddy, where Stannis shows up. I'd guess Ygritte goes down by seasons end though.

There are definitely readers spoiling things under the guise of speculation in the other thread and every other message board where people are discussing it.

Let's see if Dorne gets a lot of attention next season

I dont remember if Dorne appeared on the book 3, but i remember the girls wanting the Baratheon girl to take the crown.

It's possible that they could combine the smaller wildling attack from the south and the larger assault from the north into one. I really hope they don't push the full battle ahead til next season, that was one of my favorite scenes from the book.

I'm posting in here at my own risk to say that all the hubbub I've heard about the TV show made me realize I've had the first two books sitting on a shelf untouched for years. I'm only something like 150 pages in, but it's definitely reached can't-put-it-down territory for me already. I can't believe it took me this long to finally start.

Don't read too many posts from this thread, or you'll hear about the Hodor-Meera sex scene very early.

Oh, God, what have I done?
