before dc's new 52( the rebooted their whole universe to start over with origins and storys) the way batman was written in JLA was fantastic.

A. Superman needs a no-win scenario to be interesting, or to be forced/manipulated into doing the wrong thing. But after the Rachel-or-Harvey bit and the way they handled the end of Zod, I can't imagine anything feeling more tedious. He also needs to be alone...the only thing his character sheet has besides "good guy" is the fact that he's committed to saving a people he can never really be a part of.

B. Batman is like Wolverine: if it's an ensemble story, he needs to not be overexposed. Every minute he's onscreen, you're trading mystery and character for "oh cool it's the batman." You quickly reach a point where you've traded too much mystery, and thus it's no longer oh cool at all. The same thing happens when you cast Ben Affleck.

C. Alex needs to be at the bottom of the screen mystery science theater style, making completely unrelated conversation with puppets throughout the entire movie.

D. They could just not make it.

My wife made me watch Jack Reacher on Mothers' Day. I imagine that any movie that directly followed that two hour old people fart joke would look good by comparison. Maybe do a marathon the day of?
