oddly enough though, I learned earlier this year watching a Detroit/Dodgers game, that Torii had a very rough up bringing thanks to Vin, so for being the nicest most well respected, always smiling, fun loving guys in the game who everyone says is their favorite teammate... hes probably not a guy you should piss off.

hes fun to listen too, but hes definitely not on top of his game anymore. It'll be weird for Dodger fans when he finally hangs it up. I dread the day us Brewer fans dont get Uecker anymore on the radio

Sanchez pitched yesterday, so assuming they got a five man rotation going and no rainouts he should go when im there on the 24th! if not it could be deck maguire also decent

Why cant Gomez get an elbow pad that actually stays on his elbow when hes running? when he hits a triple, by the time he gets to 3rd, hes lost his helmet, his elbow pad is now a boxing glove, and his shin guard is on top of his shoe.

I realize todays game has changed, and batters no longer take a 2 strike approach, and with all the relief pitchers throwing smoke, and righty / lefty matchups and what not, the strikeout totals were going to go up, BUT

Those strikeout totals for some of the all time greats are just insane.
Hank Aaron has said many times that hes just as proud of his having never struck out 100 times in a season as he was of the home runs. Now days, id be over half the league is over 100 strikeouts with ease.

The numbers on some of those guys really are amazing. Pitchers are better today and striking out doesnt have the negative stigma it did back then(although I think it still should,) but to have the power numbers some of those guys had with such low strikeout totals is mind blowing.

I think the biggest change has been a realization that strikeouts really aren't that bad, so hitters are more okay with doing it more often. Aaron's strikeouts look like they were maybe a bit better than average for his time. DiMaggio's look ridiculous no matter how you look it, I think.

Tori Hunter thinks he tuff yelling at a pitcher from the opposing dugout- imma whoop your ass- then fuckin do it and stop saying it. Move your teamate holding u back aside and go..... The fact that hitters can sit there and yell at pitchers and tell them how they are going to beat them, and if the pitcher responds defensively he gets tossed. If he turns around and says nothing, the pitcher looks weak in front of 43,000 people. Unfair. Sick all these BS baseball "are we gonna fight" moments when a hitter walks toward the mound 3 or 4 steps. Ok it hurt I get it.

There needs to be like a 60 game suspension for fighting to stop all this shit, as it really becomes the focus of the game and ruins what otherwise was a good ball game.

Just checked yahoo on last years stats, 107 players struck out over 100 times last year.

Trout struck out 136 times last year and had nearly identical offensive production to Joe DiMaggio's 1941, when he struck out 13 times.

Baseball's the best.
