American Splendor (2003)

Wow. I can't believe it has taken me so long to see it.

No. But when compared to the hyperbolic reactions when it first came out, I have to say I was a little underwhelmed.

Holy crap, Monuments Men was disappointing. Subject matter and cast were right in my wheelhouse, but Clooney ballsed it up.

The new Robocop, on the other hand, wasn't bad at all.

Robocop is ok until you remember the old one and how it does every single thing better and isn't hampered by a PG13 rating. Then you realize its a soulless Dark Knight ripoff with no Joker.

For instance, why can't I differentiate this movie from either the Hobbit or Captain America?

Tomorrow I've finally got some time to actually pay attention and read subtitles for Stephen Chow's Journey to the West. I hope it's good. Shaolin Soccer was mind-blowing when I first saw it, and ever since then I've got diminishing returns from his stuff.
