Chinese Democracy is better than Lightning Bolt. There's nothing on Lightning Bolt as good as Madagascar.

So this is what it's come to.

As little as Lightning Bolt has done for me, I would still take it over pretty much anything by GNR. I have listened to all three of their major albums in the last year and they all made me want to retch.

I stand by my statement that Madagascar is more interesting and enjoyable than anything on LB.

I love me some Appetite for Destruction. That's a pretty flawless album. I don't really listen to it that often, or GNR for that matter, but it's certainly a classic and one of the best hard rock albums ever made.

The movie, the song, or the country?

Or the 19th century British trading vessel?

I just can't stand Axl's personality anymore--too much dirtball misogyny and stone-faced serious macho horseshit. There is some good rock songwriting in there but I find it breaks through less and less as I get older. Slash is a great guitarist who should have had a career in a different genre.

McParadigm wrote:Well, you sure can't argue that they put a lot of time into it. Which makes it hard to argue effort, really.

And there are implications to that, as well...such as, what craft exists on the record is more a matter of applied experience and time-supported muscle memory than of careful construction and dedicated effort.

But I guess there is still energy. I hear Ed runs on treadmills.
This is completely off-topic, but would you by any chance happen to be into weight training? Or was the term muscle memory used in a different context?

You know damn well if we were in a car on a road trip and GNR was on the radio, we'd be like this:

Release_Me's entrance music is obvious, but I wonder what would McParadigm's be.
