The "odds" feature is pretty vague, is it counting the odds of GA if you list it as your second or fourth choices? Those odds seem to be way lower.

Re: 2014 Tour Rumours
I assume so. Assume there are 1000 pairs and 500 people have it as their 1st choice; 1000 have is as their 2nd choice; 1500 have it as their 3rd or higher choice. The 10C will show the odds as 33%. The real odds are 100%(500 entries and >500 pairs available) if you have it as your 1st choice, 50% (1000 entries and 500 pairs remaining) if you have it as your 2nd choice and 0% (no available tickets remain)if you have it as your 3rd or higher choice. The odds page helps but it is very misleading. Don't forget a lot of people enter for both reserved and GA for the same show. That artificially skews the numbers downward too.jdopj wrote:The "odds" feature is pretty vague, is it counting the odds of GA if you list it as your second or fourth choices? That's what I am assuming the percentages mean as well. Very often people put both GA and Res so you're right that skews the numbers quite a bit since you can only win one of those.CopperTom wrote:I assume so. Re: 2014 Tour Rumours
The only worth that this feature has is to give an indication of which shows are in demand the most. I agree - the actual number values are meaningless. It's all about how they compare to each other.jdopj wrote:That's what I am assuming the percentages mean as well. A few people on the pit have been yapping about Chicago shows Sept 26/27. Is there anything to this? I really doubt PJ would stay on the road longer than three weeks, especially if they play Bridge School the weekend following the Denver show.

Nothing. It started as a Wrigley rumor.TouringReg wrote:A few people on the pit have been yapping about Chicago shows Sept 26/27. Is there anything to this? I really doubt PJ would stay on the road longer than three weeks, especially if they play Bridge School the weekend following the Denver show.

Believe it or not, no. Although I can see why one would assume that. I came home from work really late, saw "Pearl Jam tour dates" trending on facebook, and I have a longstanding policy of NEVER clicking (or even outright searching) facebook for something trending, even if i'm curious. So i figured the tour dates would be in here.theplatypus wrote:Vanity search?@SkitchP wrote:E.H. Ruddock wrote:After talking about it with my wife, it is going to be either Memphis or Detroit now. So who wants to get me presale tickets.

I'm leaning towards Minny/Milwaukee. My friend I went with to Dallas/OKC last year doubts he'll go so most likely I'm going to get my singles through the public sale instead of a 10C pair.

This, and it's also a form of marketing "psyops". They will drive ticket sales at shows that would not sell out by showing a low chance of getting the shows in high demand.

You'll have more to complain about if you go to a show.numbers wrote:I thought you basically liked the shows you went to last year?cutuphalfdead wrote:If Pearl Jam was still good I'd take the train to Detroit and use my fanclub tickets to go to the show with you.@SkitchP wrote:Believe it or not, no. They were ok, but definitely not take the train to Detroit good.numbers wrote:I thought you basically liked the shows you went to last year?cutuphalfdead wrote:If Pearl Jam was still good I'd take the train to Detroit and use my fanclub tickets to go to the show with you.@SkitchP wrote:Believe it or not, no. Re: 2014 Tour Rumours
The problem with PJ now is that they're really inconsistent - some shows are still really good, others aren't. You got a couple of the so-so shows, whereas Portland was fantastic. That's the rub - you never know which one you're getting.cutuphalfdead wrote:They were ok, but definitely not take the train to Detroit good.numbers wrote:I thought you basically liked the shows you went to last year?cutuphalfdead wrote:If Pearl Jam was still good I'd take the train to Detroit and use my fanclub tickets to go to the show with you.@SkitchP wrote:Believe it or not, no. I'm calling it right now - Moline is going to be fucking great. I wish I could go.
