Vitalogy was mine. This was such a great era.

Aside from the albums, which are both monstrously amazing, my strongest memory of this time period was April 3, 1994. Atlanta show on the radio. Me huddled against my boombox with a blank tape recording and a J card in my hand feverishly writing down the songs as they started and obsessively watching the tape to make sure it did not stop recording. It was on Z100 which would only broadcast the show through Blood. I did not hear any more of the show until I managed to obsessively seek out the 3 disc Dissident import single, which took months and months of going to Media Play and The Wall to find that elusive Disc 2.

This is what it was like to be a music fan in 1994. I miss this.

I got the whole show. That was an amazing night. I had never really gotten to hear PJ live outside of the unplugged and SNL style spots, so this was like a gift from the gods.

It really was. They sounded amazing. I remember that I had a question mark on the J card for both Whipping and State of Love and Trust for a long time. Then, rather than getting the singles soundtrack, I ended up mislabeling SOLAT a bunch of times (Sting of Love and Trust, Steal Lie and Trust, etc. - love the old school misprinted bootlegs of the day).

Mentioning Hard to Imagine made me think of Crazy Mary. Hearing this on the radio absolutely floored me. I didn't have the cd or know where to find it, but I did request it one night and taped it so I could hear it over and over again.

The studio version of both songs transported me (and the rest of you) to a different emotional place.

96 1st night randalls island was the weakest show for me then it only got better through 98' with the meadowlands, MSG, then Hartford

first pearl jam show I ever saw was Randall's night 1. I loved it, but I was going to be easy to impress that night. I still remember the john popper harmonica solo during even flow and Eddie's porch tag.

Got Hard To Imagine in 2008. Wash too that year. And I think I'm one of the few people out there who wasn't completely disappointed in the shows they saw that tour.

I had high expectations after missing them in 92' jones beach lollapalooza rainout then again in 94' thinking they're in Mass so logically they'll play CT and or NY next...tour cancelled :-/
so not liking No Code and the ridiculous ticketing system (supposed 4 ticket limit yet I was charged for 8 tix on the same cc anyway) then all the rain and hassle just to get to randalls island the show failed to impress...of course if I had decided to go to night 2 instead I prolly would hav an entirely different feeling about my first PJ show...regardless they hav more than made up for it with so many amazing shows.

lol...I remember the mosh circle during Daughter when my friends retreated and I just put my arm out to avoid being hurt thinking really?! moshing to daughter? were you on the sro concrete floor or in the "seats"?

I didn't mind '08. It was kinda a fun thing for them to do at the time. Plus, like someone mentioned, getting Who You Are and WMA was kinda cool. I was at the DC one, it was pretty sloppy performance wise, but I had a fun time that night.

I have the Columbia one too...the Porch jam on that one is pretty good.

The sloppy shows often have the best energy. But I don't think pj are ever really all that sloppy. The odd flub but I've only seen two restarts in 33 shows.
