I thought it was common expected knowledge that they tour by region and break it up over a few years? They haven't done the announce-all-dates together and tour all within 6 months thing since 2006. That was 8 frickin years ago.

The regions they tour are: East Coast, West Coast, Midwest/South, Canada, South America, Austrailia, and Europe. They split these regions up over 2-3 years. Sometimes they put a couple of these regions together for a 2 leg tour, usually right around an album release. So, next year it looks like South America, Canada, and maybe a smattering of US dates if they do a festival. This is what they've been doing for nearly a decade. We all know this, right?

theyprobably just booked fewer US dates because they want to keep their schedule open for more un-advertised corporate events

Y'know, it is possible they'e playing 100+ US dates every year, but 90% of them are super exclusive private events.

those corporate event sound engineers gotta be ready to capture all of the oo's and aaah's of the crowd responding to the inspiring prepared remarks of their chief investor relations officer

those oo's and aah's just so happen to perfectly mimic the dyanamics of Ed's new persistent vocal ticks/improvisations

resulting in a live recording that represents a scientifically perfect audio capture of the crappy skillless mess of a lazy shit in the pants that this band has become

There tour schedule since 2006 has been awful. I really have no right to complain, they have played the northeast 3 times since then. But this by regions tour really makes you crazy. Bascially anywhere I want to drive within 4-6 hours I have to wait another 1-2 years go to a show. And I know there are areas they have not even played since 2006 or 2008.

It jsut seems there more up for some quick cash grab shows in Europe every other year and then they build there tours after doing europe. Oh well.
