Just think of the amount of folks that would choose NYC. Wanted to do Milwaukee-Denver. Oh well at least I got my hometown show.
It's tough having so many shows within a few hours of Chicago, which is probably the second biggest PJ area after NYC.

I guess I wasn't clear, seniority doesn't help to score tix, but since seniority doesn't matter if you score GA, it becomes more attractive to join. Add your wife, a buddy, etc to increase your chances.Birds in Hell wrote:This has all been said countless times before but seniority still applies to the reserved sections in exactly the same way as it always has. Seniority never provided a better chance of securing tickets to a show.jdopj wrote:Less shows certainly is a factor, but anyone can join the day before the tour goes on sale, and regardless of seniority score the best seats in the house.

I think the 10c would limit your options to certain markets though. For instance, if you live in Baltimore, your market would have to be Washington or Newark, but not NYC.CopperTom wrote:Just think of the amount of folks that would choose NYC. It's not perfect, to be sure. But it's an improvement over the current system where people like Bond constantly gets shut out of his hometown shows and someone from Minneapolis can get tickets by joining the day before a tour announcement.

I don't understand the aversion to Ticketmaster tickets. 10C is preferred, sure, but you can still go to the concert.

This is funny. Do people really need to apply for pearl jam tickets?
Is this not a bit of a marketing scam?
It's not like these shows will sell out.

The aversion is you pay $40 a year to have to use Ticketmaster for tickets.CopperTom wrote:I don't understand the aversion to Ticketmaster tickets. 10C is preferred, sure, but you can still go to the concert.

... Entire office, to flip the GA tickets for $500 each. Scalpers bonanza. But since the 10c cannot tell who will scalp them and who is just a new member, they gotta trust us. I would like to see them do what NIN does and not let people leave the venue after they picked up their fan club tickets. That seems like an excellent way to deter multi-account scalping.jdopj wrote: Add your wife, a buddy, etc to increase your chances.

Guys, this is as fair as the system gets. If you got shut out on tickets and think it's an injustice for whatever reason, you're just kind of a douche about it.

But is what you're describing an actual PJ problem? Selling spares isn't a real problem in my eyes.broken iris wrote:... Entire office, to flip the GA tickets for $500 each. Scalpers bonanza. Hey datfly,
This is Chris' brother, John. I have an extra pair of 10C St. Paul tickets (my wife won) if you're interested. Got Denver and St Paul reserved. Lost on Milwaukee reserved (2nd and 3rd choices) and Moline GA (1st choice).

Re: 2014 Tour Rumours
For what it's worth, I lost my hometown shows last fall - both Brooklyn shows.
I'm equidistant from Philly and NYC. I didn't try for Philly tix last year.
I didn't get bent out of shape. I was 20 for 21 with the F5 system. I'm 6 for 9 with lottery. I love the lottery - it's fair and I don't need to take a day off of work to TRY for tickets.
Edit: After some thought:
3 for 3 with Index Cards (2003)
2 for 2 10C TM Presale (2004)
1 for 1 10C TicketsCanada Presale (2011)
14 for 15 10C F5 (2005 - 2010)
6 for 9 Lottery (2013-2014)

I actually thought I'd be more upset about getting shut out than I am. After all, I save about $300 on tickets and don't have to travel 2 1/2 hours to Moline or to Milwaukee on a Monday night. I just feel bad for people that always seem to get shut out.

Yes, I can't come up with another system that is any more "fair". That is true. I think this is as good as its going to get.cutuphalfdead wrote:Guys, this is as fair as the system gets. The only problem I have is that maybe being equally "fair" to people with 10, 15, 20 years in the fan club as they are with people who signed up last week isn't the best idea.

But it's always been like that! Seniority only applies after you've already purchased the tickets, it never increased your odds of actually getting in the door against other members.hlniv wrote:Yes, I can't come up with another system that is any more "fair". They could have at least been nicer about it:
"Hey DOUCHEBAG
We are sorry, your name was not drawn for a pair of Ten Club tickets. The credit card authorization will now be canceled releasing the $1 authorization back to the card.
Your next opportunity to purchase Pearl Jam tickets will be during the public ticket sale. For public ticket sale info please visit the Pearl Jam tour page: http://pearljam.com/tour
