I had that exact set. My son is now attempting to build it, since I should still have all the parts.elliseamos wrote:i had a ton of these sets:

Oh sure, they release new designs of old sets in the case of Star Wars but they don't reprint/reissue old sets.B wrote:... or make new Harry Potter sets.zeb wrote:No, I don't think they reprint stuff. But, I don't know if you're right, b/c they released Jabba's Palace in 2012, and that was previously released. They've also updated sets for the dessert skiff, the a wing, the x wing, and Jabba's barge ... probably more, but that's what sticks in my head.

Yeah, I hope they do that with Harry Potter, or my kid's gonna cry.zeb wrote:Oh sure, they release new designs of old sets in the case of Star Wars but they don't reprint/reissue old sets.B wrote:... or make new Harry Potter sets.zeb wrote:No, I don't think they reprint stuff. When I was about ten or eleven, I used to create all sorts of hovercraft and space shuttles from buckets of unsorted Lego parts. I then took polaroid photos of some of my creations and asked my parents to send them to NASA. I doubt they did, though.

I don't see how you'd draw a conclusion like that based on my post.

Re: Legos
http://chrome.blogspot.ca/2014/01/chrom ... r-you.htmlThink back: you’ve just dumped a bin of LEGO® bricks onto the floor with a satisfying crash, and you have the whole day ahead of you to build whatever you want. There’s something pretty amazing about being able to piece together your ideas with just a collection of colorful bricks.
Well, we think the creative freedom of LEGO bricks shouldn’t be limited to plastic bins—which is the idea behind Build with Chrome, a collaboration between Chrome and the LEGO Group that brought these colorful bricks to the web using WebGL, a 3D graphics technology. It was originally built by a team in Australia as an experiment, and now we’re opening it up to everybody. So now you can publish your wacky creations to any plot of land in the world.
We’ve added a few new features to make it easier to build and explore this digital world of LEGO creations. To start, you can now sign in with a Google+ account to help find stuff that people in your circles have created. A new categorization system for completed Builds will help you sort and filter for specific types of structures.
To hone your engineering skills and prepare for the upcoming “THE LEGO® MOVIE™ ,” you can explore the Build Academy, a series of short tutorials and challenges featuring characters and structures from the film.
If it feels more natural to use your hands—rather than a mouse—you can build your creations using a touchscreen on your phone or tablet with Chrome for Android support for WebGL on devices with high-end graphics capabilities.
As big fans of LEGO, we’re excited to see what you come up with to fill this new world. Share your creations on Google+ and we’ll reshare the most inventive ones.

That reminds me that the BttF sets are out, but that reminds me that they aren't as nice as the Ecto-1 set. Conflicted.

Re: Legos
God damn it. I have full on bashed lego for the better part of the past 5 years. I think it's insane they get so much love for being "kid friendly" and all those stupid stories like the one who had his lego stuff stolen, etc... and then charge the insane prices they do for what amounts to a pretty basic toy. I could see the cost if it was just the licensed stuff, but it's everything.
so what happens? Of Course my kids both decide to get into them. And given my need to have way too much of stuff it is getting out of hand in a hurry. My son wanted that Falcon posted on a couple posts back, so that was reasonable..
and then he saw Chima on netflix and started watching it, and we go to Target for something else, and sure enough a lot of the big Chima sets were 50% off. So now im in a world of trouble, as my daughter discovered she loves the girly Lego Friends stuff.
Fuck.

Re: Legos
God damned the Ninjago franchise. My little asshole of a son knows every character, weapon, and bullshit storyline. He now jumps on Amazon (he's six) and searches for new Legos. I don't give a flying fuck if asshole Ethan got this, I am not dropping $120 on a bunch of little parts that my 4 year old will lose.
