I have already threatened to burn this place to ground several times throughout this draft over stip's commentary regarding Motown. It's getting tense.@SkitchP wrote:theplatypus wrote:Don't, don't, just shh, just let it pass.

Probably should leave during the intermission, it signifies Woodstock

I also thought about drafting an actual Motown song with one of my remaining picks but I don't know if that'll make lament feel better or worse

We've had almost 90 picks or so and only three Motown songs have been chosen. Nothing is gonna make me feel better. I should've just gone full-on Motown like I planned, instead of trying to limit myself.stip wrote:I also thought about drafting an actual Motown song with one of my remaining picks but I don't know if that'll make lament feel better or worse
LIKE ALL OF THE BEST SONGS FROM THE SIXTIES ARE STILL UNPICKED.

I mean, I'm already going to lose in round one just because I don't have any Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys, or Bob Dylan.

I'm tempted to ask for permission to throw back my seven non-Motown songs and replace them with seven unpicked Motown songs just so I can go down with principle.

Clearly music is something you are very passionate about. I am not. I like music quite a lot and listen to it a fair amount, but it's not something I care deeply about. I also don't really care that much for Motown music. I understand that "My Girl" might be a more important song than All Along the Watchtower, but guess what? I would rather listen to All Along the Watchtower so that is what I picked. Best is subjective anyway, is the tournament supposed to be "Most influential songs of the 60s" or "Your favorite songs from the 60s"? I'm going with the latter.Lament wrote:We've had almost 90 picks or so and only three Motown songs have been chosen. Nothing is gonna make me feel better. I don't think I know Motown well enough to pick more than one or two even if I wanted to. Sure, I could go and look up a bunch of best Motown lists (or Jazz or any other area my knowledge is lacking) and add those songs in, but wouldn't that be disingenuous?
