zeb wrote:Chris has some "ideas" and the band recently recorded a song (with Jack Endino as producer!) they demoed in the eighties but nothing other than that has been spoken about. I'd be surprised, though, if they didn't come up with the some sketches during the tour with NIN.
I'd love it if they went the QotSA route and invited Trent to some of the sessions.

Not that they were ever "off" or anything, but compared to when I first saw them in 2012, their performances of late are hands-down tighter/stronger/reminiscent of their earlier years (only more mature, naturally). Really can't wait to see them get back in the studio.

Chris Cornell: "Head Down" was a complete demo Ben had played for me, where he's singing on it and it's very similar to what ended up on the record. That was an amazing moment because it was one of those times when I felt like, "This must be what it was like to be in the Beatles," where one of the band members just walks in and drops a song like that — it's already done and you don't have to do anything, and you already know it's going to be one of the best songs on the album.

My god. This thing in 5.1...

I know you all are going through the same thing, but I swear when I put down Spoonman and Black Hole Sun back in like may of '97, because they were over-played the hell out of. You know...

Well, my set arrived today. On my birthday. And well, my god... I swear to god that I really did hear some things in those songs (let alone the rest of the songs on the album) that I really never heard before. It's really unbelievable...

The SPIN piece is wonderful.

SU might be the best album of the 90s. Is not my favorite, but the change they made from BMF to this one was huge.

They've mentioned the Head Down demo before. Kinda irritated that it didn't make its way onto this release. :?

Yeah I thought that was a bit weird too. Cornell's voice on Fallon sounded pretty tired. Not sure if he can't hit the notes cause he's older or if he just wasn't trying.

just to clear it up, the extra version of head down is a rehearsal, not a demo. wish they'd have included the demo too.
