Song of the moment: Come Back

Post by nightmareblack0206 »

I hate to jump my Era treads BUT I gotta say Come Back is the best of the new type of PJ we have today. (LOVE S/T)

I recorded myself taking a shit, and the sound it made was far more interesting than that song.

And like my shit, it is guaranteed to make any Pearl Jam fan weep at the drop of a hat.

As great as Binaural was and Riot Act, S/T was the album I was waiting for since Yield

That's funny. For me, the period from 1995-2003 marks a time when Pearl Jam was vital and actually meant something. The S/T album was the moment they fully became the bland dad-rockers that they are today. Most of the songs on that album are total shit. Give me Riot Act any day of the week.

Come Back, Parachutes and Unemployable are good songs on a terrible album. Parachutes is pretty spectacular.

I think Life Wasted, WWS, Comatose may be my favorite run of three songs in the whole catalog.

i think s/t starts off amazingly strong but gets weak near the end. Army Reserve is a great song but it being near gone, inside job.... Takes it down for me. its strange. I enjoy come back and I think its a great showcase of eds current vocal style. He is using it to his advantage.

S/T gets a bad rep around here but I think its a pretty solid album. It felt great after the binaural/riot act run. I think S/T would also get much more love if it werent followed by Backspacer - which is kind of a watered down/rehashed version of S/T maybe.

Another theory im working on.

i really like S/T but Come Back isn't a reason for that - it's a wasted opportunity mostly because it sounds like an exercise in style that they mindlessly butchered by gating the drums and adding an over-the-top guitar solo. they should have stuck with the 60's r'n'b ballad thing and kept the fireworks for the live version.

Not the worst song on S/T but still not a good song.

Loathe this song. Eddie's vocals on this are terrible.

Listen to All or None and then listen to Life Wasted and you'll understand why S/T sounds the way it does (for better or worse).

Its a good song..i like the whole r&B vibe and the lyrics are good too...still its not amazing or something i would like to hear live, so its not that special at all.

I love Avocado, even with their flaws, is such a good album.

I made a mix of this song years ago where I cut out the second verse. You don't even know it's gone and the song works better a little shorter.
