Nathan had arguably his best season ever last year (WHIP or 0.897) as a Texas Ranger which play in a hardcore hitters park. He can totally turn it around.DeLima wrote:looks like Joe needs to hang em upChris_H_2 wrote:And then Joe Nathan happenedDeLima wrote:Great Jays - Tigers game right now.

Re: MLB
because the O's already DID hit the batter, Donaldson, for Machado? a pitcher hitting a batter / throwing inside, never looks "obvious" and can even have the "it got away" excuse. The Machado swing, looked beyond bad.numbers wrote:I don't see how what machado did is so much more egregious than a pitcher intentionally hitting a batter.
Manny Machado was giving this guy a run for his money

I'm not disputing that he was wrong in the context of the A's not being owed one, but I dont understand the uproar about how throwing a bat is SO wrong. I'm not saying it isnt wrong, but is it less dangerous than a 95 mph fastball? I dont think so. Where is this vitriol when a pitcher plunks a batter on purpose?MadTIGERmaN wrote:because the O's already DID hit the batter, Donaldson, for Machado? a pitcher hitting a batter / throwing inside, never looks "obvious" and can even have the "it got away" excuse. Did someone say Macho Man?
As for Machado I don't think I've ever seen a better defensive third baseman. Dude will be incredible. he will hit eventually. Last year he hit like 50 doubles.

the Randy Poffo card I posted, is, the one the only, Macho Man Randy Savage, in his pre-rassling / minor league baseball playing days (for those that didnt know)BigRedLedbetter wrote:Did someone say Macho Man?

Ive always heard that he got the "Macho Man" nickname from starting a brawl in a minor league game, but when I tried finding the story, I found a new story where his mother says she made the nickname up?

Isn't he the second best defensive third baseman to play for the Red Sox in the last five years?cutuphalfdead wrote:BigRedLedbetter wrote:As for Machado I don't think I've ever seen a better defensive third baseman.

Lowell was very good. As was Rolen. I'm a Rangers fan so I love Beltre but Machado will be incredible I think.
Huge wrestling fan. Macho Man is my all time fave.MadTIGERmaN wrote:the Randy Poffo card I posted, is, the one the only, Macho Man Randy Savage, in his pre-rassling / minor league baseball playing days (for those that didnt know)BigRedLedbetter wrote:Did someone say Macho Man?

I've never been more mistaken about a player than I was with Beltre. I was bullshit when the Red Sox signed him, but man, did I love the way that guy played the game and went about his business.philpritchard wrote:Beltre and Rolen are probably the two best I can remember watching.numbers wrote:Yeah, I'm partial to Beltre myself.

Yeah Beltre is a great pro. Putting up a hall of fame caliber career. As much as I don't want the Rangers to trade him it wouldn't be a bad idea to restock the cupboard.numbers wrote:I've never been more mistaken about a player than I was with Beltre. That particular angle is just amazing. The throw is so perfect it looks like the ball was just digitally added.Fuck You Jobu wrote:

It's like playing Tommy Lasorda Baseball on the Sega Genesis where every throw to every base was exactly on a line, no matter what.philpritchard wrote:That particular angle is just amazing. The throw is so perfect it looks like the ball was just digitally added.Fuck You Jobu wrote:
