Wife was watching "Awkward" last night and one of the high school seniors claimed a "65% chance she's Eddie Vedder's child". (And was gonna be the kid on the cover of Nevermind, except her Mum was a really private person).
I'm in the camp that he believes his shit to the core. And I believe it too.
Also, I love that even though the barbs and vitriol and mockery that gets thrown at him with every passing year grow greater and greater, he never tones himself down or retreats. And he keeps putting out records to back up his talk. He's put together a decade of music that is nothing short of stunning. He's exactly what we needed once Andre 3000 decided to back off from music instead of becoming the megastar he should have become.
One of the simple joys in my life is when I take over for my set on Wednesday nights and I put on Stronger and dance like I'm possessed through the part where he says "You should be honored by my lateness/That I would even show up for this fake shit."
He's a lovable idiot without any self-awareness and that makes him entertaining as hell. Add the fact that his music is actually really good (though Yeezus was a pretty big step down) and that he lives this crazy opulent lifestyle with a family of vapid bimbos and it makes for a ridiculously watchable star.
