Get rid off the Boom guy. Let Matt to write the entire album with additional help from Jeff. And finally make a pure death metal album. :D
And just bring Terry Date on board.
My wet dream about 11th album. :luv:

I think Ed can only do Life Metal these days.

Don't need to get rid of Boom, he just needs to bring a lot of weed to the writing/recording sessions. Matt and Jeff probably should write just about everything though.

Frankly I can't believe anyone considers getting rid of Boom a priority while BoB is around.

Yeah, I'm not on the "Matt's a genius" RM bandwagon.

Matt's music always weeds out the musical pussies in PJ's fanbase.

He looked all right on Sunday, definitely not the most rough looking of the band.

I couldn't care less about who get's the writing credits. Obviously i have personal preferences but i don't think songwriting exclusivity would make for a decent PJ record. I don't think neither Stone, Jeff, Mike or Matt are by the rule brilliant songwriters especially not recently. Songwring is a consequence of them being musicians rather than a talent on it's own. Ed's different in that which isn't exempt from issues precisely because his writing seems to be the result of a "lightning bolt" of inspiration rather than pragmatic constructing from a riff or a concious attempt at writing a specific kind of song like the rest of the guys often describe their own writing processes.

I think they need good "producing" more than anything else, starting with what material actually ends up on the records. They seem to have issues even with picking the appropriate keys for some songs. For instance i think Gateway actually sounds better "downtuned".

Id listen to a whole album of 'Sleeping by Myself' at this point and be satisfied. They can throw in 'Yellow Moon' type songs when they feel like it.

Listen to EdVed solo album instead. Personally i'm pretty sick of all Ed's solo efforts via band. A bunch of Vedders songs could've been easily saved for his solo work.

Album #11 will be an album of studio covers from their concert staples over the years

I'd probably really enjoy that if a real studio album followed soon after

i actually wouldn't mind it either if they turned out like LROM. or an EP of cover songs, at least. But if they sounded like Ed's take on "All Along The Watchtower", well then that's a different story...

I expect a long build up, with significant fan anticipation giving way to cynicism, after which a backlash of anti-cynicism causes everyone to blame eachother for starting it, only for the record to be severely disappointing but very few showing the stones to actually admit it.

Oh wait, it's '09 and '13 all over again...

The interesting thing is '06 had no cynicism, despite Riot Act not being to everyone's taste. I bet we'd all kill for another Riot Act now. A damn good record.
