Eddie Vedder sings 'Let it Go'

Post by mikejasond »

Didnt see this anywhere. Its got 1 million views so I guess that gives some attention to Pearl Jam, but Jesus Christ I wish he did this better. Man if this was 10 years ago he would have nailed this but this is sort of embarrassing <_<

Yeah somehow this was a real story on Rollingstone.com yesterday. They must be getting really desperate.

It was on my Facebook "trending news" thing or whatever. I'm continually surprised by how immune to criticism these guys are, especially when it comes to be total merch pimps. The press tends to be fawning when it comes to their albums and live shows, too. I really don't get it. Which is why the Internets can be so great. Love the comments on this video:

Its a nice movie, but this sounds horrible.

MY EARS HURT!!!!

Sorry Eddie.....that was NOT good.

Um, That sounded horrible.

Eddie was a wee bit flat there... Maybe a bottle or two too many of the vino, eh?

he needs some autotune

he sounded like he was taking a nasty shit

now they have completely hit rock bottom. So sad.

There have been at least 30 stories in my news feed about this. I think it was kinda cool that they did it, but for the love of god, it was a 15 second Daughter tag. I think the Pearl Jam World will recover.

I kinda wish they'd goof around like this a little more on stage.

The Today show even did a piece on it yesterday morning. This is the most press I've seen Pearl Jam get since Last Kiss.

I would not complain about a Christmas single cover.

sarge nailed this one.

though it's ironic that Ed kept his signature goatwarble away from a song where the original singer is almost as bad as he is about it.

Anyone else think he sang that for his daughters????? Amazing how media jumped all over that, it was so short, not like he sang the whole thing. Media is weird.

My wife asked me this morning while she was in bed looking at her phone "Did Pearl Jam play a cover of that song from Frozen?"

I have no idea where she found it, it's crazy. She wanted me to get a copy of it so she could burn it to a CD for our daughter.

I just put my head in my hands....

I am renouncing my fan status starting now. Even Bono wouldn't be this desperate. This is from Eddie who supposedly "spends hours deliberating which songs should be placed into a setlist and where they should go"... this is quite pathetic. I wonder how long it took him to think up where to put this Disney song.

Ugh. You people sicken me.

i wrote this in the other thread, but this isnt even the first time he's done a children's song. some of you people need to get over yourselves.

ive never seen this movie, nor did i watch the clip, but this is the kinda live stuff i enjoy. impromptu, spur of the moment type stuff. they used to do it more often. im sure eddie vedder watched the movie w/ his kids and had the song stuck in his head. hopefully the next movie he watches is 'stop making sense'

It's fairly obvious he did this as a nod to his daughters, which I'm sure they love this song just like every other pre-teen girl in the world. He probably can't escape it. That same night, he dedicated "Just Breathe" to his wife bc it was their anniversary. And I think Daughter came after that? Not that big of a jump to conclusion.
