The pre PRAMG pearl jam would have punched that 5 year old girl in the face rather than entertain that request

I would like to request that he tag Winter Wrap Up from My Little Pony the next show I go to. It'll make my 3 year old daughter pretty happy.

Everyone knows Little Mermaid is the best anyway. How come Vedder hasn't requested to cover my cover of Kiss the Girl on the uke yet? This is bullshit. Someone link me up to Tom Tomorrow. Or Kat.

If they sang Under the Sea or Kiss the Girl I'd be totally into it.

Strat, go vote in the 70s tournament.

Reason: you claim I think "it was a small clip to tap into a certain demographic"... but, I never said that. You did. Yes, re-read it: you did. Because you know it. Deep down - you know it. Underneath your PJ shirt, your PJ tats, your mind-numbing echo-chambered PJ-filled ears, lies a heart... a heart that knows the truth. "
LuNY wrote:Dont wear shirts with logos, no tats, I am a musician who likes many many many artists not just pj..
Right... I'm sure. I bet you don't have every Pearl Jam record ever and every single song memorized. Try to convince us... please ... this can only get more entertaining.
IlluminEddie wrote: ...A band seeking attention like an aging old grotesque botox-filled former super model....
LuNY wrote:The other day I was on youtube, listened to Black from MSG 2010, it had 158,000 views. I mean one song from how many shows and how many videos on youtube and this has 158,000. They just had a number one album in 50 something countries, they headline major festivals, sell out tours in minutes. But yeah the Let It Go clip is a must, because "they are doing everything they possibly can to be relevant". Relevant to what? A delusion in your sad little mind? People simply enjoy them. And they have always been a great band, and since 1998 an amazing band.

People did enjoy them and they tolerate them now. They had a #1 record because they are an old band that still plays. People wish for them to be who they once were. But, once they listen, their ratings immediately plummet. The point is they are killing their legacy by being complete an utter sell-outs. Oh and 158K views on YouTube is shit. Look at new bands for proof.
IlluminEddie wrote:They are dying. before. our. eyes. The band that at one point was the biggest in the world, and a huge determinant on all of our youth, is now literally a laughing stock for the general public.
LuNY wrote:Laughing stock? I don't think anyone gives a shit about this clip weirdo. Or maybe you just hear laughter in that crazy head of yours. I think you are blowing that small clip (probably for his kids) way the fuck out of proportion, because you suck. Now when you go to a PJ concert you think its going to be filled with kid songs? Get over it crazy!

Yes, laughing stock, fanboi. To answer your question - you give a shit about this clip, friend. That's the reason you went into a message board and posted in it. This one clip may have gotten more mainstream attention than PJ's last album. But, no one cares? Just because your so drunk on your PJ juice, doesn't mean reality doesn't exist.

LuNY wrote:I never saw Frozen, being that I dont have kids and i'm an adult male, never really heard the song, heard of it being that it won an Oscar. But lets see, who wrote the song? who sang the song? I dont know but I bet all skilled musicians, have respect for people and stop being so jaded. If the girl who sang that song was sitting in a coffee shop I think anyone would say "she has a great voice" But being thats its part of a disney kid thing its somehow not music.

I don't think anyone said it's not music. It's fine music, in my opinion. You know what? There's plenty of good cinematic pop/love songs that are also music. The irony, of course, is that Pearl Jam is playing this and doing it in the daughter tag element. In fact, doing it around "It's OK". So, let's back up in our Pearl Jam history. They come out and do that tag after Roskilde. People died. They rallied the troops with that song, or tried to. It was serious shit. Ten years later they are singing Frozen's theme song in that very same tag. How can any rational person not see the overwhelming insincerity in what/who they once were? It was all a gimmick. Fair enough - but, yes, they are a shell of themselves. They were so ultra serious, now they are playing songs kid-friendly pop songs and posing for pics with kiddie bands. They want the younger generation to remember them and they are approaching it all wrong. They're like the crazy single aunt who tries to sleep with every guy she knows in order to "get married". PJ have become w.h.ores.

IlluminEddie wrote:your unwavering PJ pom poms....
LuNY wrote:Oh so I should judge them? Who cares its just music! Get a life. Oh what now I cant wear my PJ t-shirts and stand outside the fucking 7-11 with my arms crossed and stare down senior citizens and kids who just dont get my super relevant bad ass band anymore???? Its just music douche its not about proving anything or who's the fucking coolest. Oh man now at the bar the guy with The Metallica t-shirt has way more fucking cred then me, i'm gonna go run home and fucking squeal like a fucking bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are simply great players, a great band, who gives a fuck about some short clip at a show in italy for his kids? Crazy people like you I guess.

You care. Your a fanboi. You took all this time to type out your 3rd grade level jibberish to prove your not a fanboi. You did so -> on a pj forum... that no one goes to... except lunatic PJ freak fans. But, yeh... you're not a fanboi.

PJ was a great band. They aren't anymore. Their lead singer, who once sounded good, now sounds like a seal with laryngitis. They never play together and it shows. They are becoming old has beens who get attention by covering Disney songs.

"PJ was a great band. They aren't anymore. Their lead singer, who once sounded good, now sounds like a seal with laryngitis. They never play together and it shows. They are becoming old has beens who get attention by covering Disney songs."

He sounds great. The high pitched raspy screams he is doing from certain songs off the Lightning Bolt album are difficult to perform night after night. But thats Ed for you, as time goes on he seems to try new more challenging tones. If they play something like Glorified G, he sounds exactly the same as years ago "always keep it loaded!!!". The new material has some really high pitched screaming, not easy to do. They are a great band, going to a show is a really amazing experience every time, I saw them the last time they were at MSG and his voice was so round and powerful, a mystical energy to it. The man is in great form and continues to produce original material, solo shows, a hard worker. AS USUAL. A very common thing I have heard for years from other fans is "they dont have one bad song". I agree. They don't need "attention" they have PLENTY of it all over the world. It was clearly for his daughters. Yeah Ed's sitting back going "you know all those 4 year olds using youtube will come across this clip, I can really have that demographic, so when im 85 years old I got the fan base of that Frozen era" Internet media picked up on it because they always have to keep stories going, lame ones too. I actually saw a story on Yahoo with a headline that read "So and so (young pop star) has a pimple" I shit you not! Its all garbage stories that will vanish from the publics mind in 5 seconds.

"They never play together and it shows"

They have been playing together for over 20 years!! They know what they are doing, they are one of the tightest bands ever. Matt and Jeff are an amazing duo. You are so jaded and negative. They have been working within the context of rock and producing original music within the genre which is not easy. Look at a song like Grievance, the arrangement is one of the most unique forms of songwriting within rock ever. I can go on and on.

Pearl Jam has a bunch of songs I don't like. But I think the only studio song I'm going to call flat out bad is supersonic.

I'd be totally psyched to hear this live

usual lyrical fuck ups though
