Ed now votes on who gets an Oscar. Maybe Sean Penn will get a directing Oscar to go with his two other acting Oscars now.

I know someone who has a vote in the Oscars. It's not as hard as you might think to enter this club. Stay around Hollywood enough, work on enough movies, TV, etc. = something you work on wins big = you a member.
